Overview
The Project Controls Specialist, under limited supervision, is responsible for serving as the project team's subject-matter expert in planning & scheduling, progress measurement, cost management, change management, reporting, and analysis. The Project Controls Specialist is a business partner to the project team(s) and understands company processes and key business drivers to problem-solve using technical experience, judgment, and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
• Development and implementation of the project controls execution plan.
• Implementation of the Project Management and Controls System and project initiation process.
• Implementation of the project OBS, WBS, and CBS in the required financial and progress systems.
• Understand and follow the company's Project Controls procedures.
• Demonstrates understanding of Earned Value Management principles.
• Basic knowledge of EPC contracting types (LS, Cost Plus, Reimbursable).
• Assists in the Estimate Conforming process.
• Understands the project chart of accounts and its relationship to the estimate and contract scope to assist project execution.
• Owns monthly budget, schedule, change management tracking, and project risk reporting.
• Works closely with Project Accounting to manage project cash flow, revenue recognition, billing.
• Assists change management efforts, including building of cost estimates in support of change verification.
• Reporting - Provide Timely and accurate Schedule, Cost and Progress Measurement data and analysis.
• Knowledge of Scheduling Software and processes and their relationship to cost and progress.
• Owns project schedule updates, maintenance, review, cost management, and analysis to identify and report trends.
• Owns risk assessment for the project, including risk and opportunity analysis for all phases of the project.
• Participate in Closeout Report data collection.
• Interacts with the Operations team and represents the Company to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives.
• Supports the professional development and growth of junior project controls personnel.
Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• 4-year degree in engineering, construction management, business, finance, or related fields.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in project controls or project management in the commercial construction market.
• Demonstrates experience using Primavera.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving can-do attitude and high level of coordination skills.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in working with others in a multifunctional team.
• Accepts change and works well under pressure.
• An understanding of JDE Edwards is not required but would be a plus.
• Knowledge of common business tools such as Microsoft Office applications.
• Awareness of contract and construction terminology.

Pay Range
USD $88,380.00 - USD $117,970.00 /Yr.
