Job description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking Project Controller to support the CBP Office of Facilities and Asset Management (OFAM) through AE Advisory Services and Construction Management Support (CMS). You will ensure that projects remain within scope, on schedule, and on budget, providing analyses and reporting to support informed decision-making.

This position is contingent upon the award of the contract. The period of performance for this project has a total of five (5) years, one (1) base year plus four (4) one (1) year option periods.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control project schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Track cost performance, prepare cost estimates, and evaluate change orders.
  • Conduct claims analysis, risk assessments, and delay impact evaluations.
  • Develop project reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Support integration of project controls tools and processes across multiple projects.
  • Ensure compliance with federal contracting standards and reporting requirements.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or related field or 10 years equivalent construction experience in lieu of the bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls for construction projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, or other project controls software.
  • Preferably with certifications as one of the following: Certified Cost Consultant, Certified Cost Engineer, Certified Cost Technician, or a Certified Estimating Professional, scheduling professional
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • The client conducts an extensive background check, must be able to pass DHS security clearance to obtain Personal Identity Verification  (PIV) Card 
  • Flexible to work on site in the US Borders such as TX, MI, Washington State, NY, CA and NM.
