Position Summary

IMS is seeking experienced, mission-driven Program Managers to lead and coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives supporting Department of Defense (DoD) and research-driven environments. This role focuses on program execution, stakeholder alignment, and operational oversight, ensuring programs deliver measurable results aligned with client priorities.

Key Responsibilities (List not all inclusive) Program Execution & Oversight
  • Plan, organize, and manage interconnected projects to achieve program objectives
  • Develop and manage schedules, deliverables, and performance tracking across program activities
  • Monitor execution and ensure alignment with client priorities, timelines, and quality expectations
  • Analyze program performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client communication and escalation
  • Coordinate across government stakeholders, contractors, and cross-functional teams to drive progress
  • Lead and facilitate meetings, working groups, and program reviews with internal and external stakeholders
  • Translate leadership priorities into actionable plans and team direction
Operational & Program Management
  • Track and manage program activities, action items, and deliverables across multiple workstreams
  • Maintain and update program documentation, trackers, and collaboration tools (e.g., spreadsheets, dashboards, knowledge repositories)
  • Oversee reporting requirements, including weekly, monthly, and executive-level briefings
  • Support planning cycles, including roadmap development, resource coordination, and prioritization
Team Leadership & Coordination
  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate cross-functional teams and/or direct reports
  • Conduct regular touchpoints, performance discussions, and team alignment sessions
  • Foster collaboration across distributed teams and partner organizations
  • Identify and remove obstacles to maintain program momentum
Process Improvement & Strategy
  • Apply program management, change management, and continuous improvement practices to enhance outcomes
  • Identify process gaps and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support innovation initiatives, pilot programs, or emerging capability efforts (e.g., AI/advanced technology programs)
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited university required; Masterโ€™s preferred
  • 5โ€“10+ years of experience in program or project management (flexible based on level)
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification(s) highly preferred
  • Experience with Agile, product management, or emerging technology programs
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Miro, or data tracking platforms
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs
  • Experience developing reports, briefings, and tracking mechanisms
  • Experience supporting DoD, AFRL, or federal contracting environments
  • Meets U.S. citizenship and work eligibility requirements for federal contractors
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret level clearance, if required
