Job Description

The Senior Night Shift Paint Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising all paint department operations during the night shift. This role ensures that production activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and production schedules. The Night Shift Paint Supervisor provides direct leadership to paint employees, supports workflow execution, resolves operational issues, and coordinates with cross-functional teams to ensure continuity between shifts.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining productivity, supporting employee performance, minimizing rework, and driving continuous improvement within paint operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate night shift activities within the paint department
  • Lead daily execution of production requirements to support schedule attainment and on-time delivery
  • Assign work and establish priorities based on production demands, manpower, and material availability
  • Monitor department performance to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Enforce standard work practices, procedures, and policies within the paint department
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to employees to enhance performance, accountability, and technical development
  • Conduct shift start-up meetings, communicate daily goals, and address operational priorities
  • Coordinate shift handoff with day shift leadership to ensure smooth transition of work, priorities, and issues
  • Ability to work night shift and support extended hours or weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment in accordance with job requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in paint, manufacturing, aerospace, aviation, or an industrial production environment
  • Experience with paint application processes, surface preparation, masking, coatings, and related production activities
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced production environment
  • Experience in safety and quality standards applicable to paint operations
