Job description

Personal Aide & Road Manager - LAUNCH / This Week in Startups

Austin, TX (based) ~40-50% global travel - Reports directly to the CEO

The role:

You are the CEO's right hand in the physical world. When we land in Tokyo, Davos, or Dubai, you already have the SUV staged, the podcast kit through customs, and dinner booked at the right table. This is not a desk job - it's a hands-on, on-the-road operator role for someone who is equally comfortable driving a truck on a Texas ranch, hauling 100 lbs of camera and audio gear through an airport, and troubleshooting a live-stream encoder at 6 a.m.

What you'll do:
  • Travel with the CEO worldwide (30+ trips/year): advance logistics, ground transport, hotels, visas, gear manifests
  • Serve as driver in Austin and on the road; maintain vehicles
  • Physically manage podcast/production equipment - pack, transport, set up, tear down (must comfortably lift/carry 100 lbs)
  • Own scheduling for dinners, events, and meetings in coordination with the executive team
  • Personal errands, ranch support tasks, event support at summits and LAUNCH functions
  • Anticipate problems before they happen; solve them before anyone notices
Who you are:
  • 5+ years in private service, military/aide-de-camp, touring/production, hospitality, or executive support - hybrid backgrounds strongly preferred
  • Physically strong and fit; clean driving record; able to obtain a passport with heavy visa flexibility
  • Technically fluent - you're the person friends call to fix things
  • Discreet to a fault; comfortable signing a serious NDA; background check required
  • Based in Austin or willing to relocate

Compensation: Competitive base + bonus, full health, travel per diem, vehicle provided. Comp scales with experience.
