The Opportunity
Our Pipeline Integrity Field services team is looking to add to the team in Charleston, WV to support the pipeline integrity assessment and repairs group.
We are seeking a motivated Pipeline Integrity Engineer who has knowledge and experience in fitness for service evaluations, repair determinations and pipeline operations. This individual has the proven skills, competencies and capacity to ensure pipeline repairs decisions are made using prudent engineering practices and to provide engineering support for various pipeline integrity functions.

What you'll do
  • Support and drive a strong safety culture in line with corporate and department initiatives.
  • Provide decisions for pipeline repairs (RSTRENG, dent strain analysis, sleeves, leak repairs, composite reinforcements).
  • Support Operations and US Regulatory personnel with State PUC & PHMSA audits (49 CFR 192).
  • Develop regional scopes of work aligned with strategic Capex initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Project Teams during review of Front End Engineering and Design(FEED).
  • Maintain assigned policy, plan, and procedures with current industry standards.
  • Be engaged with industry affiliates and knowledgeable of current / changing regulations and internal operating procedures.
  • Participate in industry events (PRCI, INGAA, SGA).
  • Provide expertise, technical support, and training in technical areas such as Pipeline Assessment, Equipment Maintenance, Failure Investigation, Risk Management, Pipe Design, Pipeline Construction and Pipeline Operations and Maintenance.
  • Work with internal stakeholders in Technical and Operational Services, US Gas Operations field teams and management, Commercial Operations, Projects and the Technical Center to ensure activities are completed to maintain the integrity and compliant operation of system assets.
  • Perform Engineering Assessments for increasing pipeline pressures, Operational changes, assessing pipeline reliability and for developing strategies to mitigate threats to pipeline integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 Years' of relevant experience
  • A degree in relevant engineering major from an accredited university or degree in related major with commensurate relevant industry experience
  • Exposure to applicable industry codes and standards (CFR 192, ASME B31.8 etc.)
  • Proven experience conducting direct assessment of pipeline defects in excavations, with demonstrated ability to evaluate real-time conditions
  • Extensive background making critical repair decisions based on in-ditch findings, including utilizing non-destructive testing (NDT) methodologies results to evaluate materials at risk for leaks, corrosion, or failure
  • Advanced knowledge of pipeline repair methodologies

Preferred Qualifications
  • PE or EIT
  • Working knowledge and exposure to various inspection technologies used in pipeline integrity assessments

  • Be part of an on-call rotation and provide emergency support as required
