As a Personal Injury Paralegal, you'll apply your paralegal skills and experience by working closely with law firms, business partners, plaintiffs, and internal stakeholders throughout the funding process. Working directly with one of our Directors, you’ll help guide cases from initial funding inquiry through submission, underwriting, contract approval and ultimately client funding while building lasting relationships and delivering an exceptional client and law firm experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

You will work on a dedicated team of 3-4 professionals responsible for supporting one of our Directors and their assigned law firms and business partners. In this role your day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:


40% of the day focused on processing incoming funding requests – requests typically come from referral sources, direct law firm referrals, web inquiries and inbound calls;

  • Carefully review incoming leads and associated documents to ensure that information that we have received is sufficient to review and underwrite a funding request
  • Independently review information available on a docket and if necessary, request additional information such as medical records, police report, defendant information, etc.
  • Create and process a funding request by creating and managing a lead in CRM
  • Provide timely and frequent updates to all stakeholders ensuring plaintiffs, law firms and referral parties are kept in the loop


40% of the day is spent working directly with internal stakeholders to secure funding approvals and includes setting up calls with handling attorney, obtaining missing information, gathering method of payment information from the claimant with the goal of getting a funding processed within 24 hours of the initial request.


The remaining 20% of the time is spent working closely with the Director and your other team members on identifying ways of organically growing our business. As part of this responsibility, you will closely work with Risk Management, Marketing, and the Executive team to help identify firms that would benefit from customized funding programs, site visits and other initiatives. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with law firms, referring partners through exceptional service and ongoing communication.
  • Resolve issues proactively to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Support relationship management initiatives, client meetings, and other departmental projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of experience working in a personal injury law firm is a must
  • Experience with client intake, case management, and medical record collection and medical record evaluation
  • Strong understanding of the personal injury litigation process
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with law firm staff, clients and other business partners via phone and email throughout the day.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Self-motivated with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
