Job description

Position Title:Mgr Performance Improvement LaborDepartment:Financial ServicesJob Description:

The system Labor Management Manager partners with Enterprise leadership to optimize labor utilization, productivity performance, and cost management across all departments. This position leverages advanced labor analytics, productivity systems, and workforce planning platforms- including Laborlytics, Workday, Vizient Benchmarking and Adaptive Planning -to deliver actionable insights, support strategic and financial planning, and drive sustainable operational improvement.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify productivity improvement opportunities and deliver actionable, datadriven recommendations to facility leadership teams.

  • Guide the effective use of labor and productivity systems, including Laborlytics, Kronos, and other webbased applications, ensuring accurate collection, validation, and reporting of labor and productivity data.

  • Utilize Laborlytics analytics and dashboards to monitor productivity trends, benchmark performance, identify variances, and support labor cost optimization initiatives.

  • Leverage Workday for workforce data analysis, position management, labor reporting, and alignment between productivity metrics and staffing models.

  • Support financial and workforce planning through Adaptive Planning (Workday Adaptive Planning) by contributing labor forecasts, productivity assumptions, scenario modeling, and variance analysis tied to departmental operations.

  • Support Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual strategic planning sessions by providing operational insights, trend analysis, and recommendations that inform priorities and costsaving targets.

  • Lead and participate in the integration of new departments or cost centers into labolyticsrelated and enterprise systems (Epic, Laborlytics, Workday), ensuring proper configuration, data integrity, and reporting visibility.

  • Review and evaluate productivity across various skill mixes (Non-Clinicians and Clinicians, Providers, and support staff), identifying performance gaps and recommending optimization strategies.

  • Deliver training and education to leaders and operational teams on Laborlytics, Vizient ODB, Workday reporting, and Adaptive Planning tools to ensure consistent understanding and utilization.

  • Monitor productivity performance using standard tools and dashboards, escalating risks, variances, and improvement opportunities to appropriate leadership levels.

  • Support the development, refinement, and standardization of daily operations, policies, systems, and procedures aligned with costreduction and systemutilization goals.

  • Participate in facility and division budget planning, supporting labor modeling, productivity assumptions, and integration of operational plans into Adaptive Planning and financial forecasts.

  • Prepare and present monthly KPIs, Laborlytics dashboards, Adaptive Planning reports, and quarterly scorecards for leadership review, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Assist with staff development by coordinating education programs and inservice training opportunities for hospital services teams related to productivity, labor management, and system utilization.

  • Lead, develop, coach, and effectively manage the team to ensure deliverables and performance metrics are met. Develop team to accomplish results through training, development, performance management and recognition.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 years experience in relevant Healthcare work with at least 5 years of progressive leadership experience.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements

  • None required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • General understanding of all aspects of finance.

  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to implement data analysis techniques.

  • Knowledge of the structure, function, and management of a large organization.

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices involved in planning, organizing, staffing, and controlling activities.

  • Skill in managing employees in the accomplishment of organizational objectives.

  • Skill in effective communications, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to analyze complex and sensitive situations and adopt an appropriate course of action.

  • Ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner.

  • Ability to direct and coordinate multiple diverse, involved programs and projects simultaneously.
