About Overwatch Mission Critical Overwatch is a service-disabled Veteran-owned small business (SDVOB) certified through the National Veterans Business Development Council (NVBDC), offering construction professional services, talent acquisition, and general contractor for the mission-critical infrastructure industry. Our mission is the construction and management of state-of-the-art data centers with the precision and reliability this industry demands. OverviewThis role will focus on the base building and MEP infrastructure portions of the project. They will be required to coordinate with the DCIB teams that are executing the tenant fit out data hall white space projects separately.

  • Project Oversight: Lead and manage the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Risk Evaluation: develop a deep understanding of the project to evaluate the risk profiles associated with timely delivery, address gaps in risk identification and mitigation and inform the business of associated potential impacts.
  • Risk Management: develop mitigation strategies for major project risks to ensure project success.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers, facilitating clear and effective communication. Develop and maintain key relationships to effectively support internal and external stakeholders.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with colocation providers to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
  • Tenant Fit Out Integration: Work closely throughout design, construction, and commissioning to fully coordinate and integrate the separate scope of tenant fit out projects with the DCIB teams leading these efforts.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
  • Design Coordination: Collaborate with design teams to ensure that construction activities align with the approved design plans and specifications.
  • Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Provide ongoing colocation Provider evaluation input for continuous improvement
  • Regular site walks to ensure schedule, coordination, and quality will be required throughout the life of the project on a regular basis.

Scope of WorkThis team comprises experienced project managers, commissioning experts, and construction specialists who work collaboratively to ensure the successful execution of complex data center construction projects. They bring a wealth of expertise in project management, technical design, and on-site construction, ensuring that our data centers meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
Required Experience Needed

  • Strong knowledge of base building data center construction- civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing.
  • Project management: for startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data center design, construction, and operational requirements, with a focus on cutting-edge technologies and sustainability.
  • Project Management: Proven expertise in managing large-scale data center construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Budget Management: Proficiency in creating, managing, and optimizing project budgets to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Risk Management: Ability to identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
  • Vendor Management: Experience in selecting, negotiating, and managing contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies to ensure compliance in all construction activities.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and clear project updates.

Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentThis position operates primarily in an active data center construction environment, encompassing both indoor and outdoor work settings. The role requires the physical ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in a dynamic environment that includes ongoing construction activity and evolving site conditions.The work environment includes areas and temporary structures owned, leased, or controlled by third parties over which Overwatch may have limited or no control. Because the project remains under construction, certain areas of the site โ€” including access routes, staging zones, and temporary structures โ€” may not yet be fully ADA-compliant until construction is complete or those third-party areas are finalized.
Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, twist, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods while navigating uneven, unpaved, or obstructed terrain.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to drive between job sites and access all areas of an active construction zone, including raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and construction-related noise, vibrations, and odors.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and site personnel, and maintain situational awareness in high-activity environments.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots, is required.
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.

Work EnvironmentWork is performed primarily in and around active construction areas, which may include unfinished buildings, temporary field offices, staging areas, and partially completed infrastructure. These locations may contain uneven surfaces, limited accessibility, and other conditions typical of construction projects prior to final completion. Overwatch does not control and cannot modify accessibility conditions within areas, facilities, or temporary structures owned or managed by third parties.
