Job description

Job Description Our client, a humble family founded organization is seeking a Operations Manager to join their team. As a Calgary-based specialty retailer, our client focuses on high-quality products and customer service proudly servicing the Calgary market and beyond. While their product is their core passion, they also power a rapidly growing network of wholesale partnerships across Canada and operate an innovative, immersive customer experience.

A tight-knit team of approximately 28 professionals across their front office, regional sales, and dedicated production facility where the magic happens. To keep pace with their incredible momentum, they are planning the construction of a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in the next 3 to 5 years. We are looking for a visionary operational leader to help optimize today and build for tomorrow.

As the Operations Manager, you will join the leadership team and take full ownership of our end-to-end supply chain. Your mandate spans the entire full-cycle production process-from roasting operations and warehouse management to inventory, logistics, and distribution. The opportunity for growth lies in optimizing the transition of product from the roasting floor to the warehouse.

You will come in with a critical eye to evaluate their existing workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and implement scalable procedures. As a key leadership figure, you will manage several direct reports and help shape the future structure of their rapidly growing business. Key Responsibilities Process Optimization: Critically evaluate and streamline all workflows within the production and roasting facility to maximize efficiency and eliminate operational bottlenecks.

Warehouse & Inventory Control: Oversee warehouse operations, establishing robust inventory management systems to ensure accuracy, quality control, and seamless product transition. Logistics & Distribution: Manage full-cycle distribution channels to seamlessly fulfill both retail demands and our expanding national wholesale partnerships. People Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated team of production and warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.

Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Oversee strict health, safety, and food safety standards across all facility operations. Strategic Growth: Act as a core member of the leadership team, contributing to long-term scaling strategies, including the planning and eventual transition into our future facility. Qualifications Proven Leadership Experience: A track record of effectively managing teams, developing staff, and leading by example in a fast-paced environment.

Production/Factory Expertise: Strong business acumen with extensive experience managing operations within a manufacturing or production facility. Food Industry Experience (Strongly Preferred): Deep familiarity with food safety, regulatory compliance, and health standards is highly valued. Supply Chain Mastery: Robust expertise across inventory management, quality control, logistics, and distribution.

Problem-Solving Mindset: A natural ability to analyze data, identify bottlenecks, and execute continuous improvement initiatives. Why This Opportunity. This is a rare opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role where your impact will be felt immediately.

You will get the best of both worlds: the warmth, agility, and connection of a values-driven family business, combined with the exciting growth and scaling opportunities of a national brand. If you are a strategic operational leader who loves a quality product and wants to help build a future home, we would love to meet you.
