Job description

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to join our growing team.

External Job Description

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Group Manager is a front-line leadership role at JELD-WEN's Winnipeg manufacturing site. This position supports and motivates production teams to meet goals and uphold our high product quality standards. With a focus on safety and continuous improvement, the Group Manager is key to our operational success and team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute production plans to meet targets efficiently
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies
  • Deliver hands-on safety training
  • Monitor team performance and hold employees accountable to goals
  • Support employee development through coaching, training, and feedback
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement manufacturing processes
  • Track attendance using the digital timekeeping system
  • Plan labor needs based on production demands

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent management experience
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing leadership experience required
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of windows and doors manufacturing is an asset
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Willingness to learn hands-on to support training and mentorship
  • Experience with LEAN and Continuous Improvement is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a diverse workplace
  • Strong time management and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
  • Familiarity with UKG Dimensions or similar timekeeping systems is an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude and ERP/data management experience are assets
