Zantech is looking for a talented Deputy Program Manager / Operations Lead to contribute to the success of our upcoming Program Management Support project for an Hybrid role based out of theWashington DC Metro Area/Pentagon.

The Deputy Program Manager / Operations Lead will play a crucial role in providing:

  • Program Operations and Day-to-Day Management
  • Deliverable Quality Management
  • Team Coordination and Resource Management
  • Risk Management and Issue Resolution
  • Customer Relationship Management

The Deputy Program Manager serves as the operational backbone of the contract, managing day-to-day execution, deliverable quality, team coordination, and client relationships. This role ensures seamless program operations when the PM is engaged in strategic activities or executive meetings, and provides critical continuity and depth to program leadership.

This role ensures consistent, high-quality delivery of all contract requirements, maintaining stakeholder satisfaction and enabling the PM to focus on strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:

  • Manage day-to-day program operations and team activities
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of all contract deliverables
  • Coordinate team resources and manage workload distribution
  • Conduct regular team meetings and status reviews
  • Manage program budget, schedule, and earned value reporting
  • Identify and mitigate program risks and resolve issues
  • Maintain strong relationships with CDAO customer and stakeholders
  • Oversee deliverable review process and quality assurance
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and teaming partners
  • Prepare program status reports and briefings
  • Implement and maintain Agile/SAFe practices across the team
  • Support proposal efforts and contract modifications

Required Experience or Knowledge of the following technologies/functions:

  • 10+ years in program/project management with 6+ years managing DoD contracts
  • Proven program management experience on DoD CPAF/CPFF contracts
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/SAFe methodologies
  • Deliverable quality management and review processes
  • Resource management and team coordination
  • Risk and issue management
  • Budget management and earned value management (EVM)
  • Stakeholder communication and relationship management
  • Schedule development and management (MS Project, Jira, etc.)
  • Contract administration and compliance
  • Government acquisition and contracting processes (FAR/DFARS)
  • Experience managing professional services contracts in DoD EA/BPM domain preferred
  • Prior experience with CDAO, DISA, or OSD customers valued
  • Strong organizational and communication skills essential
  • Experience with government CPARS evaluations and award fee processes

Required Education/Certifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent
  • Certifications Preferred:
    • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or RTE (Release Train Engineer)
    • PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner)
    • DAWIA Program Management Level II or III
    • Cost/Schedule Control Systems Criteria (C/SCSC) certification
    • Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • Education Preferred:
    • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Project Management, Engineering Management, or related field
    • PMP certification with advanced project management training

Required Security Clearance:

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret or higher clearance, per contract requirements.
