Job description

Job Title: GSOC and Protective Intelligence Manager

Reports To: Security Director

FLSA: Salary / Exempt

Location: Reno, Nevada

Summary:

Under direction of the Security Director, the GSOC and Protective Intelligence Manager will provide oversight and first line management to all GSOC Operations and Intelligence personnel, implement policies and procedures and ensure quality control over all operational support and intelligence production. The GSOC and Protective Intelligence Manager is responsible for communicating GSOC capabilities and processes, as well as Intelligence risk assessments to stakeholders including security customers and C-Suite executives.

Supervisory responsibilities:

Build, lead, manage and motivate GSOC/Intel personnel in a dynamic, rapidly evolving and cross-functional environment that is centered around the use of people, process and technology.

Oversee the development, implementation, and administering of training for the GSOC Operations and Intelligence Teams.

Oversee the hiring, scheduling, supervision and retention of members of the GSOC Operations and Intelligence Teams.

Provide guidance and procedures to the GSOC and Intel Teams to enable their role as the central security data and threat intelligence repository.

Provide guidance for best practices in OSINT collection, Intelligence writing, and reporting for a variety of customers including security agents, security management, and all business offices as requested.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Supervise the implementation of new technologies and business processes to improve efficiency across all security teams.

Complete performance evaluations, provide regular verbal and written feedback to all GSOC and Intel personnel.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Administrative Duties:

Inform Security Director on the current threat and risk environment.

Manage Intelligence production calendar and customer requirements.

Monitor Principal family schedules and disposition to guide and assist in coordinating resources.

Coordinate with Security Management on new security technology implementation, maintenance, and functionality.

Provide written guidance documents for Emergency Management and Response, Security Communications, Daily GSOC processes, Information Technology processes, Threat Intelligence reporting, Security Data Management, Security Data Integrity and Availability, Security Systems Protection.

Monitor timecards, credit card purchases, and scheduling to ensure appropriate compliance and staffing coverage within the GSOC Operations and Intelligence Teams.

Maintain complete inventories of all GSOC contracts, office equipment, and communication equipment.

Manage security petty cash distribution/documentation for accounting.

Review vendor invoices and manage vendor relationships.

Liaison:

Coordinates with the Security Director, residential security, physical security EP, IT, security contract vendors and internal staff to accomplish common goals and promote company vision, purpose and values.

Attends Security Management and cross-team meetings.

Maintains effective liaisons with the Human Resources Department to ensure proper protocols and support to team members are provided.

Create and maintain relationships with all company departments to promote their utilization of GSOC and Intelligence capabilities.

Coordinate with the CyberSecurity Team on overall Risk Assessments, promotion of CyberSecurity awareness, and GSOC adherence to CyberSecurity best practices.

Maintain professional and productive relationships with GSOC vendors and ensure timely implementation, training, renewals, payments, and changes to contracts.

Support the company Business Continuity Plan by maintaining proper notification directories and a redundant Operations Center in the case of a GSOC outage.

Project management:

Identify opportunities for GSOC and cross-functional collaboration and efficiencies by maintaining current knowledge of industry best practices and tools.

Identify, Assess, and coordinate implementation of new technologies and capabilities with the IT and CyberSecurity Teams.

Coordinate and oversee progression of Objectives and Key Results deadlines for Security Annual Operating Plan (AOP).

Complete projects as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Candidate should have a minimum of:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience

6+ years in corporate security, military intelligence, or emergency management, with 3+ years in a leadership role.

Experience in Intelligence analysis, writing, and production.

Experience in project management and implementation of new technologies across multiple teams.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to requests from executives, managers, clients, and staff.

Able to analyze complex situations and recommend solutions.

Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities and deadlines.

Protection of confidential business information.

Advanced knowledge of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) best practices.

Experience with investigations and intelligence collection.

Basic knowledge of Cyber Security, Information Technology, and/or Network Security.

Computer Skills:

Position requires proficiency using the Internet, email, MS Office and Google Drive.

Understanding of data privacy and security and how to implement safeguards for confidential information.

Working Conditions:

Able to work irregular or extended hours.

Able to regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands/manual dexterity, reach or stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; speak or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Specific hearing required by this job include ability to hear and understand phone and radio transmissions.
