We currently have an an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Terminal Manager at our beautiful Bensalem, Pennslyvania facility.
Role:
The Terminal Manager will manage and lead the day to day operations of the company's Northeastern business. The terminal operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The Terminal Manager ensures that the terminal staff provides outstanding customer service to our customers, delivering their products on-time and safely every time. This position has full P&L responsibility as well as being responsible for the hiring and training of employees, safety and compliance, developing new business and expanding business opportunities with current customers.
Successful team members are ambitious, intelligent, highly motivated individuals who are passionate about providing world-class customer service and possess a strong desire to lead and grow the business unit. This requires an individual who is a strong leader who is able to think strategically yet also is willing and able to be a hands-on manager as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring customers products are delivered on-time and safely every-time while providing customers with consistent, professional communication and outstanding customer service.
  • Manage the profit and loss of the terminal operations, taking actions to improve profitably, control costs and improve work processes.
  • Manage and coordinate all operations activities to obtain optimum use of personnel and equipment
  • Evaluate internal processes and procedures and, if needed, implement modifications to improve operating and reporting efficiency
  • Ensure the timely flow and communication of information between the company and drivers regarding company news and information specific for deliveries
  • Driver and employee performance management process to include providing corrective action, counseling, performance improvement plans, training and development opportunities and periodic review process
  • Management of driver expectations - ensuring drivers are highly productive, maximizing their availability to generate revenue, while ensuring they get home time in accordance with company policy, are paid timely and accurately and are retained.
  • Management of operations, maintenance and tank wash teams
  • Periodically and routinely review customer rates
  • Promote strategic business growth, customer and driver retention, customer and driver satisfaction; present and market the services of the company
  • Train and retrain office staff and drivers on procedures and processes
  • Assist and provide direction in the recruitment of new drivers
  • Assist in the orientation and training process for new employees
  • Manage facility hiring process by selecting best-qualified applicants to fill any open positions; assist recruiting as needed
  • Ensure accuracy of terminal payroll through the execution of accurate and complete dispatch

Abilities and skills required:
You are a LEADER. You must have the ability to motivate and drive results. Requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to perform under pressure. The ability to adapt, learn, and think on your feet are essential. Must have the ability to communicate value to prospects that drives new sales. AS400 Innovative knowledge preferred and basic Microsoft Office skills needed. Must be capable of understanding human nature and how to motivate people to accomplish a given mission. Customer service skills are paramount. You should be capable of communicating quickly and effectively (spoken and written language). Strong computer skills are essential to daily tasks. Multi-tasking and organizational skills are required to perform this job. Great attention to detail and being a team player are imperative to this position. Qualified candidate must be well-versed in complete trucking operations, including but not limited to, dispatch, routing, scheduling, providing excellent & timely customer service, tracking, and negotiating rates.
Qualifications:
Previous terminal/business unit management experience is required. Trucking Experience required, food grade transportation experience preferred.
