The Big Picture
The Manager of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) is responsible for taking the lead role of all day-to-day
management of the VDC department. The VDC Manager is responsible for maintaining continuous contact
with Operations, Estimating/Preconstruction and Business Development/Marketing and maintains
professional relationships with project executives, designers, owners, subcontractors.
What You Bring to the Team
  • Lead the production, coordination, and enhancement of 3D object-oriented models.
  • Support Business Development, Preconstruction, and Operations teams with model-related needs.
  • Plan and manage VDC team workload, coordinating with Preconstruction to forecast upcoming work.
  • Define project modeling and CAD strategies at project startup.
  • Implement and manage BIM processes, standards, and project-specific modeling budgets.
  • Collaborate with designers, consultants, and contractors to establish file management protocols.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality BIM content; review models for coordination, quality control, and construction support through closeout.
  • Monitor and manage department job costs; implement controls to prevent overruns.
  • Identify and develop innovative uses of model-based data across project phases.
  • Provide leadership and act as a role model for the VDC team.
  • Coach and develop team members through regular feedback, one-on-ones, and growth opportunities.

  • Partner with client-facing teams to promote services and support new business development.

  • Apply current and emerging VDC technologies (e.g., sUAS, 360 imaging, laser scanning, AR/VR) throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide user support for VDC tools and systems to enhance collaboration and workflow efficiency.
  • Coach and mentor project teams in the effective use of BIM and VDC tools.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with MEP coordination.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with VDC/BIM processes and technologies.
  • Experience working with subcontracts, subcontractors, and self-perform work is a plus
