About the Position
The Director of Quality at Team JAS, Inc. is responsible for leading the company's Quality Management System (QMS), regulatory compliance programs, and continuous improvement initiatives across all operations. This role provides strategic leadership for the FAA Part 145 Repair Station, ASA100, and AS9120 quality systems while ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, product conformity, and regulatory compliance. The Director of Quality will foster a culture of accountability, safety, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of the FAA 145 Repair Station Quality Program, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Manage the ASA100 certification program, including audits, documentation control, compliance maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) functions, promoting accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, policies, procedures, and systems to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Warehouse departments to align quality objectives with organizational goals.
  • Investigate, address, and resolve customer complaints related to product quality and service, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report quality metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Drive process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency improvement initiatives across quality-related operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Support and enhance employee training programs to ensure company-wide understanding of quality requirements, compliance standards, and best practices.
  • Oversee supplier quality performance, including supplier audits, corrective actions, approval processes, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
  • Manage the internal audit program to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, requirements, and company procedures.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities related to nonconformances, audit findings, escapes, and customer concerns.
  • Ensure proper control of technical data, quality records, procedures, and configuration management processes.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in quality management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the aviation or aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Parts 21, and 145.
  • Certifications: FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or similar credentials preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in quality management systems, including AS9120.
    • Familiarity with Quantum Control ERP system is strongly preferred.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality metrics and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams while driving accountability, collaboration, and organizational improvement.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
