Position Summary
The Division Manager - Child & Family Resilience and Preservation provides strategic leadership and high-leveloversight of programs designed to strengthen family resilience and preserve family unity. This role manages allaspects of child and family services, including overall case management, crisis response, and ethical programoperations.
The Division Manager supervises staff, ensures quality service delivery, and may carry a limited caseload of critical clients requiring advanced intervention. Responsibilities include general program administration, budget management, timesheet approvals, reporting, and seeking funding opportunities to sustain and expand services. The position also oversees compliance with professional standards, fosters collaborative partnerships with MCFD and community agencies, and ensures culturally safe, trauma-informed practices throughout all program activities.
What you'll do
- Manage the Child & Family Resilience and Preservation division, providing strategic leadership and oversight of all child and family services. Provide strategic direction and high-level management of child and family resilience and preservation programs.
- Ensure ethical and professional standards are maintained across all program operations.
- Oversee overall case management processes, including assignment of cases and monitoring of care plans.
- Carry a limited caseload of critical clients requiring advanced intervention and crisis response.
- Lead, mentor, and support program staff, including case managers and navigators.
- Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Manage program budgets, approve timesheets, and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Supervise program delivery, reporting, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Direct general program administration, including budgeting, timesheet approvals, and resource allocation.
- Monitor program outcomes and prepare detailed reports for leadership and stakeholders.
- Utilize data to inform program improvements and strategic planning.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities to sustain and expand services.
- Collaborate with leadership on grant applications and proposals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with MCFD, Indigenous communities, and other service providers.
- Represent the program at community forums and inter-agency meetings.
- Lead high-level crisis intervention and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Develop contingency plans for complex cases and emergency situations.
- Promote culturally safe, trauma-informed practices throughout all services.
- Advocate for family-centered care and resilience-building strategies.

Working / Special Conditions
- Combination of office-based work and community engagement; occasional travel to client homes and partner agencies.
- Schedule: Full-time position with flexibility required for evening or weekend work during emergencies or community events.
- Ability to sit, stand, and travel for extended periods; occasional lifting of program materials.
- Must adhere to health and safety protocols, including First Aid/CPR certification and maintaining a clear Criminal Record Check.
- Regular use of case management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual meeting platforms.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license required for travel within service areas.

- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Human Services, or a related field.
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in program leadership (asset).
- Minimum 3-5 years in family support, child welfare, or community-based programs.
- Proven experience supervising staff and managing complex cases.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding cultural protocols.
- Strong understanding of child protection principles, trauma-informed care, and family systems.
- Ability to develop and oversee care plans, attachment plans, and crisis response strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Competence in building partnerships with agencies such as MCFD and other service providers.
- Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze data and prepare reports for program evaluation.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
