Position Title: Manager of Product Line Management Product and Platforms; Cable Backplane Systems

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market. Our products enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We are currently seeking a high energy Senior Global Product Line & Marketing Manager to lead the Cable Backplane Systems portfolio.

The Manager of Product Line Management for Products and Platforms will be responsible for the full P&L of the Cable Backplane Systems portfolio while leading and developing a team of Product Line Managers. This role sets the strategic direction for the product family, drives revenue growth and margin expansion, expands into new markets and customers, and ensures strong global cross functional execution.

Responsibilities:
  • Own global P&L responsibility for the Cable Backplane Systems portfolio, including revenue growth, margin expansion, and bookings performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Line Managers, setting clear performance objectives and accountability standards
  • Develop and execute the product line strategy, including defining and implementing product roadmaps and go to market plans
  • Translate market and customer needs into product definitions and prioritized development initiatives
  • Drive new business development in new markets and customers while expanding share within existing strategic accounts
  • Develop competitive analyses and pricing strategies to maximize market share and profitability
  • Partner closely with global Sales and Field Application Engineering to maximize design wins and customer penetration
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure successful product launches and operational excellence
  • Lead lifecycle management activities including rationalization, PCNs, and portfolio optimization
  • Drive value engineering, cost reduction initiatives, and capacity planning alignment
  • Forecast bookings and revenue, manage pricing strategy, and evaluate capital investment ROI
  • Represent the product line at industry events and support marketing initiatives
  • Travel domestically and internationally, including travel to Asia, for customer visits and factory engagement, willing to travel 20% or more
  • Provide strategic plan for products to management and executive leadership team
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field, MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in product management, product marketing, or business leadership within electrical or electronic manufacturing
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing product management or product line teams
  • 5+ years of experience building relationships with direct customer interface
  • Experience in high-speed interconnect, cable solutions, or related industry preferred
  • Demonstrated experience owning or managing a product line with financial accountability
  • Strong financial acumen including forecasting, pricing, margin management, and ROI evaluation
  • Proven ability to lead global cross functional teams
  • Strong technical aptitude combined with business acumen
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
