EBTH was born out of a passion for helping people via a full-service approach to consignment; revolutionizing how homeowners, estate managers, dealers and collectors connect with a world of shoppers seeking rare and wonderful things. Each day the global auction platform unleashes an ever-changing assortment of art, jewelry, fashion, collectibles, antiques and more, all with a starting bid of $1.

We are seeking a Head of Operations who will act as the leader, strategic planner, and resource manager for our operations and processing teams in Cincinnati, OH. As a dynamic company, we move fast and seek to continuously improve. While this is a highly demanding and critical position, you’ll be surrounded by a passionate team dedicated to drastically changing the way personal property is sold, bought, and moved across the country—and we have a lot of fun while doing it.

Core Areas of Oversight
  • Processing & Production: Direct operations leadership to optimize high-volume cataloging, photography, and authentication workflows.
  • Merchandising & Inventory: Oversee the scheduling of items to maximize value, accelerate inventory turnover, and meet distinct line-of-business goals.
  • Specialized Categories: Provide strategic oversight of the Jewelry & Watches division, focusing on strict authentication standards, inventory management, and market-leading curation.
  • Security, Facilities & Loss Prevention: Protect EBTH assets, employee safety, and high-value inventory through rigorous physical security, risk protocols, and facility compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Operational Leadership
  • Vision & Roadmap: Define, establish, and execute the long-term operational roadmap and strategic direction to support EBTH's growth, material efficiency, and the "EBTH Promise" of quality and trust.
  • Organizational Design: Drive organizational design, ensuring the processing and operations teams are structured for maximum throughput, scalable workflow, and clear accountability.
  • Policy & Infrastructure: Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, emerging technologies, and operations-related policies to streamline resources and protect assets.
  • Team Development: Directly manage, mentor, and train management-level staff, providing constructive performance evaluations and cultivating leadership depth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Revenue Alignment
  • Sales & Intake Alignment: Serve as the primary partner to the Sales organization to ensure processing capacity seamlessly aligns with incoming intake forecasts and client expectations.
  • Financial Accountabilities: Establish, administer, and manage budgets, optimize labor costs, and approve cost-control reports/estimates for critical projects.
  • Tech & Marketing Integration: Partner with Marketing and Tech departments to implement internal and external tools that improve the overall seller and buyer experience.
Data-Driven Performance & Risk Management
  • Analytics Mastery: Leverage Looker, Salesforce, and operational metrics to track trends in efficiency, and item economics.
  • Executive Reporting: Present periodic, high-level performance reports and operational KPIs to the executive leadership team.
  • Risk Mitigation: Oversee the operational risk management framework, including safety regulation compliance, facility protocols, credit analysis, and customer service escalations.
Who You Are (Required Skills & Abilities)
  • The Experienced Leader: You possess 10+ years of progressive leadership in operations, logistics, supply chain, or marketplace management—ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth retail or e-commerce environment. You have at least 5 years of dedicated experience in upper/executive management.
  • The Strategic Collaborator: You have a proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate seamlessly with Sales, Technology, Finance, and Executive leadership to drive unified corporate objectives.
  • The Analytical Thinker: You live in the data. You have deep analytical and problem-solving skills, utilizing metrics to proactively solve complex logistical bottlenecks before they impact revenue.
  • The Culture Champion: You thrive in a dynamic, "uncommon" environment, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and lead with transparency, accountability, and a healthy sense of humor.
  • Technical & Organizational Precision: You feature excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency with Google Suite, Salesforce, Looker, or related systems.
Education Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or an industry-related field.
  • Preferred: Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
