Primary Office: B&GC Administrative Office
Travel: Local and occasional area travel
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends
Position Summary
The Resource & Development Director leads the organization's fundraising and resource development efforts by cultivating donor relationships, securing grants and corporate sponsorships, coordinating fundraising events, and strengthening community partnerships to support the mission and long-term sustainability of Boys & Girls Club of the Big Country.
This position leads individual donor cultivation and stewardship, grant development, special event fundraising, and donor database management to support the Club's mission and long-term sustainability.
Success in this position is measured by building strong donor relationships, achieving fundraising goals, increasing community engagement, and maintaining effective stewardship of donor resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cultivate, solicit, steward, and retain individual donors through meaningful relationship-building and ongoing donor engagement.
  • Develop and manage grant opportunities, including prospect research, proposal writing, submission, reporting, and compliance follow-up.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute signature fundraising and donor engagement events, including Piece Out, Sneaker Ball, Youth of the Year, and the Beef Raffle.
  • Maintain and update donor and fundraising records in My Club Hub, ensuring accurate data entry, gift tracking, donor acknowledgment, contact management, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the CEO, leadership team, Board of Directors, volunteers, and community partners to develop and implement fundraising initiatives that support the Club's strategic goals.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Boys & Girls Club of the Big Country by building lasting relationships with donors, volunteers, businesses, and community leaders while advancing the Club's mission.
  • Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies, sponsorship opportunities, donor appeals, and stewardship initiatives to achieve organizational fundraising goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors and community businesses to increase sponsorship support for fundraising events and organizational initiatives.
  • Prepare correspondence, event materials, donor communications, reports, and other development-related documents as needed.
  • Support the promotion of fundraising campaigns and events through coordinated communications, marketing materials, and community outreach efforts.
  • Monitor fundraising progress and track event revenue, expenses, and development outcomes.
  • Collaborate with staff, board, and marketing partners to develop and support fundraising materials, donor communications, and promotional efforts for campaigns and special events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Experience in donor cultivation, grant writing, event planning, or nonprofit resource development preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications; experience with donor management software preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, youth-serving, or community-based organization.
  • Experience with donor database platforms.
  • Experience coordinating fundraising events and community sponsorships.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrates a genuine passion for the mission of Boys & Girls Club of the Big Country and a commitment to serving youth and strengthening the community.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles, donor stewardship, and grant development.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, volunteers, Board of Directors, and community partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and in person.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends occasionally, especially during fundraising events and special programs.
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethical stewardship while managing donor relationships and confidential information.
Working Conditions
This position primarily works in an office setting but requires attendance at meetings, events, donor visits, and community functions. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for donor meetings, community events, and organizational activities.
The position may require sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to lift and carry light materials related to events and programs.
Compensation
This position offers a base salary of $60,000 per year, with eligibility for a performance-based bonus upon successful achievement of key goals and objectives.
