Job description

The Director of Finance - Retail Field Finance will lead all finance activities in support of the Retail Division. The position will report to the VP of Finance, with a strong dotted line to the Sr. VP of Retail. A significant portion of daily activities will entail interfacing directly with the Retail Operations team and providing financial guidance, support and training. This role will lead a team of 3 Finance support staff. The Retail Field Finance Team will have responsibility for all aspects of finance for the Retail Division, encompassing the monthly financial close process (in conjunction with the Accounting Team), variance explanations and analytics, Business Review preparation, and the annual/inter year budgeting process.
This role will be a key Strategic thought partner for the Sr. VP of Retail and the entire Retail Team. This will entail engaging in the overall Strategic Plan for Retail, development of the 5 Year Plan and ensuring connectivity between Strategy and the Financial Plan. Evaluation and insight into industry trends (airport and Retail) will be a key part of the role, in conjunction with the overall Retail Team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and provide monthly financial reporting
  • Streamline reporting and planning processes and leverage technological savvy to reduce manual processes
  • Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements
  • Lead annual/inter year budgeting process with the Retail Ops team
  • Provide financial training to ensure the Retail Field team fully understands financial metrics/KPI's to drive improved performance
  • Create and provide when need CBA scenarios with assistance from HR, RD, and VP to present to the SVP. This includes wage, benefit, and other impacts
  • Utilize TM1 planning system in support of planning processes
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to SVP Retail and their Ops Team
  • Lead managing, directing, training, and developing talent of direct reports

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree with Finance focus; solid financial background (accounting, financial analysis, financial reporting, month-end variance analysis); MBA desirable
  • Specific Financial and Operations experience in Retail/Airport industry strongly preferred
  • Ability to adjust and work effectively in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently across all levels of management
  • Ability to manage team's workload through ambiguity and complexity
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, business analytics tools, and ERP general ledger experience
  • Advanced knowledge of TM1 Planning Analytics an asset
  • Previous experience leading and coaching a team
