Job description

RaceTrac Company Overview
Job Description:
The Senior Manager of Finance is a high-aptitude utility player who partners across every function of the Finance organization to advance the company's most important priorities. Reporting to the Treasurer, this role brings additional analytical horsepower to the team-driving and participating in new Finance initiatives, lending financial expertise to broader enterprise initiatives that require Finance involvement, and performing complex ad-hoc analyses that inform executive and Board-level decision-making.
The Senior Manager of Finance interprets financial reports and explains key metrics and the drivers behind variances and abnormalities, partners with banking and lending relationships on the company's treasury and financing needs, and provides guidance and recommendations that support financial planning and capital-raising activities. The role demands versatility, sound judgment, and the ability to move fluidly across FP&A, corporate finance, treasury, and reporting as priorities shift.
Responsibilities:
Finance Initiatives & Special Projects
  • Drive and actively participate in new initiatives across the Finance organization, partnering with the Treasurer and finance leadership to move priorities from concept through execution.
  • Provide financial expertise and support to enterprise-wide initiatives that require Finance involvement, including systems upgrades, automation, M&A integration, and policy or process changes.
  • Prioritize and track the execution of critical projects, anticipating needs, dependencies, and risks and proactively addressing challenges before they escalate.
  • Drive delivery and continuous improvement through data, metrics, and stakeholder feedback.

Complex & Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis
  • Execute complex ad-hoc financial analyses in response to business requests, including analysis of revenues, expenses, profitability, and returns across corporate divisions and the company as a whole.
  • Conduct financial, variance, and trend analysis to surface key insights, risks, and opportunities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Build financial models to evaluate strategic initiatives, investments, and capital decisions, and report findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Remain objective and unbiased when evaluating results, ensuring the full and accurate picture is presented.

Financial Reporting & Insight
  • Interpret and analyze weekly and monthly financial reports, explaining key metrics and providing the "why" behind abnormalities while telling the story with trend data.
  • Support the preparation and analysis of key KPIs.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly to managers and executives, translating technical topics for non-finance audiences.
  • Prepare executive updates, presentations, and Board-level materials with clarity, accuracy, and insight.

Treasury, Banking & Financing
  • Partner with the company's banking and lending relationships to support treasury and financing needs.
  • Assist in evaluating and negotiating financing agreements, credit facilities, and capital funding options to optimize the company's capital structure, liquidity, and financial flexibility.
  • Support cash management, liquidity monitoring, and related day-to-day treasury activities.
  • Monitor financial and market risks and support mitigation strategies to protect company assets and financial stability.

Financial Planning, Guidance & Capital Raising
  • Provide financial guidance and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders to optimize financial performance and resource allocation.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process, forecasting, and long-term financial planning that support business growth, profitability, and sustainability.
  • Support capital-raising and capital-planning activities, including the evaluation of investment opportunities and financing alternatives.
  • Serve as a business partner to functional areas across the organization, driving additional profitability through forecasting and analysis.

Collaboration & Leadership
  • Serve as a cross-functional liaison, representing Finance in working groups and building credibility and trusted relationships with business units.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 6-8 years of progressive finance experience spanning multiple functions such as FP&A, corporate finance, treasury, M&A and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex financial analysis, financial modeling, and forecasting tools.
  • Exposure to treasury, banking relationships, capital markets, or financing and capital-budgeting decisions preferred.
  • Experience performing financial or business analysis in a retail environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP and financial systems (e.g., Workday) and financial reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-finance audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels.
