About the Opportunity:
We are partnering with a rapidly growing public company seeking a Senior Manager of Cost Accounting to join its finance team. This role will take significant ownership of cost and inventory accounting, with responsibility for ensuring accurate financial results while improving the scalability and effectiveness of the function. The ideal candidate brings deep technical cost accounting expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to partner effectively across operations, supply chain, finance, and external audit teams.

Salary Range: $150,000-$180,000

Responsibilities:
• Lead recurring cost and inventory accounting close activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Provide technical leadership across cost accounting matters, including inventory valuation, variance analysis, and other complex accounting areas.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and strategic analysis to provide actionable insights to business leaders.
• Establish, maintain, and enhance cost accounting policies, procedures, and internal processes.
• Act as a primary point of coordination with external auditors for matters related to cost and inventory accounting.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, finance, and other stakeholders to analyze cost information and support business decisions.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen the accuracy, accessibility, and scalability of cost accounting data and reporting.
• Lead process improvement and automation initiatives designed to reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
• Explore opportunities to leverage analytics, emerging technology, and machine learning within the cost accounting function.
Qualifications:
• 6-10+ years of progressive cost accounting experience, including experience managing and developing team members.
• Strong technical knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex cost information and translate findings into meaningful recommendations for the business.
• Experience collaborating across operations, supply chain, finance, and external audit teams.
• Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deliver results within a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
• Process improvement mindset with an interest in using automation, technology, and analytics to improve efficiency and data quality.
• Experience with ERP environments; exposure to Oracle or SAP preferred.
• Experience implementing cost accounting process improvements, automation, analytics, or other technology-enabled solutions is preferred.
