Manager, Operations Finance - Manufacturing
Rexdale, Ontario or Langley, British Columbia (Hybrid)
MacDonald Search Group has been asked by our manufacturing client to recruit a Manager, Operations Finance to support financial performance across multiple production facilities.
This is a highly visible role that sits at the intersection of Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Continuous Improvement, helping drive profitability, cost transparency, and operational decision-making.
Some of what you will do:
  • Lead standard costing, inventory costing, and cost accounting processes across multiple manufacturing sites
  • Develop and maintain costing methodologies covering materials, labour, overhead, and inventory valuation
  • Support pricing decisions through profitability analysis and product cost validation
  • Analyze manufacturing variances and provide recommendations to improve operational performance
  • Lead month-end activities related to inventory, costing, accruals, and operational financial reporting
  • Partner with plant leadership teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Track operational performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Support capital investment analysis, productivity initiatives, and continuous improvement projects
  • Serve as a key finance business partner to Operations, Supply Chain, and plant leadership teams
  • Drive standardization of finance processes, reporting, and best practices across manufacturing locations
  • Develop reporting tools and analytics that improve decision-making and financial visibility
You should have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of progressive finance experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management, and variance analysis
  • Experience supporting plant operations, manufacturing leadership, or multi-site environments
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with operational leaders
  • CPA designation considered an asset
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives is highly desirable
