Operational Analyst – Information Technology

The Operational Analyst is an entry‑level role responsible for supporting daily technology operations within the Bank’s production environment. This role combines computer operations, first‑level help desk triage, and IT documentation maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a structured environment with established processes.

Qualified individuals will have a basic understanding of computer systems, networks and common business applications as well as the ability to learn banking systems, security requirements and operational processes. Strong attention to detail, ability to follow structured procedures, clear communications skills and a customer service mindset are required. Associates degree or technical certification preferred.

Operational Analyst – Information Technology VP, Information Technology Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operational Analyst is an entry level role responsible for supporting daily technology operations within the bank’s production environment. This role combines computer operations, first level help desk triage, and IT documentation maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a structured environment with established processes.


JOB RESPONSBILITIES:


Computer & Core Operations:

  • Monitor scheduled jobs and batch processing across core banking systems and supporting platforms
  • Perform routine system checks to ensure availability, accuracy, and timely completion of operational tasks
  • Identify and escalate exceptions, failed jobs, or system alerts according to established procedures
  • Maintain operational logs, runbooks, and daily checklists in alignment with audit and compliance standards

Help Desk Triage & User Support:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for internal employees requesting IT assistance
  • Perform initial troubleshooting for issues, access problems, and common banking application errors
  • Create and document tickets with clear details for escalation to support teams
  • Provide basic guidance on bank‑approved software, security practices, and access procedures

Documentation Review & Cleanup:

  • Review existing IT procedures, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for accuracy and completeness
  • Update documentation to reflect current systems, workflows, and compliance requirements
  • Standardize formatting and ensure alignment with bank documentation standards and audit expectations
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff to validate technical content and ensure consistency across departments
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and common business applications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures
  • Clear communication skills and a customer‑service mindset
  • Ability to learn banking systems, security requirements, and operational processes


SKILLS:

  • Experience with IT ticketing systems (ServiceNow, ServiceDesk, Jira, etc.)
  • Exposure to batch‑processing or mainframe environments
  • Exposure to banking software (Fiserv, Finastra, FIS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts or service‑management frameworks
  • Interest in automation, scripting, or process improvement


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred
