Right-of-Way Operations Manager
Reports To: Area Manager
Schedule: Year-Round,Full-time

Position Overview
The Right-of-Way Operations Manager oversees maintenance operations for designated landscape contracts, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to contract and quality standards. This role manages crew activities, coordinates materials and equipment, and ensures operational readiness.
The employee will be paid year-round and is required to work approximately ten months of the year during the high-demand season. During the remaining months, the employee will perform preventive maintenance and other assigned duties. Periods of reduced activity may occur during the winter months, during which the employee will remain on paid status.
Key Responsibilities
  • Directly manages all field activities related to maintenance services, operate tractor equipment to fulfill contract services - ensuring projects are completed according to scope, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Manages budgeted labor and equipment hours to ensure contract profitability.
  • Independently prioritizes and assigns resources to meet operational demands.
  • Exercises authority to recommend hiring, promotion, disciplinary action, and termination of field employees.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and personnel required for assigned contracts.
  • Conducts site inspections and submits operational reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead new hire and ongoing training programs, providing hands-on instruction in equipment operation, pruning techniques, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Review and organize weekly crew schedules, setting daily goals and performance expectations.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings, monitor adherence to safety protocols, and minimize accidents and equipment damage.
  • Supervise truck and equipment inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Coordinate proper maintenance, storage, and use of all project equipment and vehicles.
  • Enforce company policies and operational procedures as directed by management.
  • Communicate with clients regarding quality, negotiate minor changes or adjustments, and discuss overall service satisfaction.
  • Perform additional operational or administrative duties as assigned by the Project or Area Manager.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree or certification in Landscape Management or Horticulture preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising landscape or grounds maintenance crews.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial landscaping tools, tractors, and related equipment.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, motivate crews, and ensure compliance with company and safety standards.
  • Valid driver's license with an offense-free driving record; ability to travel between job sites as required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.

Work Schedule and Classification
This is a full-time salaried, overtime exempt position.
Schedules are designed to support the demands of specific projects assigned.
