Job description

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing, delegating, coordinating and overseeing the workflow with Split Case replenishment and put away as well as split case drivers picking replenishment cartons.

In addition, the Supervisor will delegate to staff on moves and maneuver staff to pick designated work as needed. The Supervisor will build morale while enhancing areas of strength and improving areas of need which supports our business needs and improve productivity.

Will also work closely with 2nd Shift Manager to determine needs and flex staff as required to accommodate overall business operations.   May flex to help cover Full case picking, Replenishment or other duties as assigned.

 

DUTIES:

  • Plan, organize, supervise and participate in daily warehouse operations and activities, including safety and distribution of equipment and supplies.
  • Train, coach and mentor employees and evaluate the performance of department employees.
  • Plan and schedule the work for the day to ensure timely picking and inducting to make the shipping dock on time.
  • Complete all tasks assigned for the day to ensure stock is put away in sellable condition to meet commitments for the day.
  • Ensure proper inventory levels are in place to fulfill orders for the upcoming weeks.
  • Delegate daily workload and maximize the use of staff to ensure consistent workflow while minimizing overtime hours.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining departmental reports properly and timely.
  • Continuous coaching of staff as necessary
  • Keep management informed of department progress/issues.
  • Defuse employee issues in a timely manner.
  • Comply with company policies and procedure.
  • Encourage and uphold company safety standards.
  • Maintain and exceed Material Handler I & II productivity standards.
  • Follow all policy and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain work records in the computer and employee files.
  • Communicate job expectations to all employees and keep them updated of their numbers every day.
  • Train all Team members ensuring all warehouse checklists are completed.
  • Leading by example and operating motorized equipment in safe and efficient manner
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all work performed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in area and adhere to company safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to successfully meet customer commitments in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience in DC warehousing.
  • PC Skills-Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook
  • Warehouse systems experience preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional employee relationships.
  • Ability to build positive employee morale.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees/management.
  • College degree or comparable warehouse experience
