Job Summary

FutureSoft is hiring a Computer Operator 2 for an onsite contract opportunity in Atlanta, GA. This role will support data center operations, production control, network monitoring, and critical infrastructure monitoring.

The selected candidate will monitor BPE/TPE transactions, environmental systems, security systems, electrical systems, UPS systems, network systems, production jobs, and printed output. This position is ideal for a local Atlanta candidate with hands-on experience in large data center operations, NOC support, production control, Control-M, TPE/BPE Manager, and distributed server environments running AIX, Linux, and Windows.

Work Schedule

This is a weekend overnight shift role.

Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

The selected candidate must also work an additional 16 hours during the week. These additional hours may be picked up on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor BPE/TPE transactions and production processing activities.

Monitor environmental, security, electrical, HVAC, generator, and UPS systems.

Check network systems to ensure statewide access and availability.

Monitor LAN/WAN, MPLS, TCP/IP, and SNA network environments.

Support production control activities and automated job scheduling.

Use Control-M and TPE/BPE Manager to monitor and manage scheduled jobs.

Work with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues.

Monitor distributed server environments running AIX, Linux, and Windows.

Ensure printed output is accurate, high quality, and defect-free.

Follow data center security policies and access procedures.

Monitor raised-floor data center environments.

Monitor fire detection and fire suppression systems.

Follow Change Management, Incident/Problem Management, and Asset Management procedures.

Support hardware and software maintenance contract activities.

Assist with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery procedures.

Maintain logs, reports, tickets, and operational documentation.

Escalate issues according to established procedures.

Required Qualifications

Completion of a two-year certificate or degree from a college, university, or technical school in an IT-related field, or equivalent IT work experience.

2+ years of experience as a Computer Operator in a large data center environment.

2+ years of experience in a Network Operations Center.

2+ years of experience with Production Control.

2+ years of experience with Control-M.

2+ years of experience with TPE/BPE Manager.

2+ years of experience with data center security.

2+ years of experience with HVAC systems in a data center.

2+ years of experience with electrical power systems, including generators and UPS systems.

2+ years of experience with raised-floor data center environments.

2+ years of experience with fire detection and fire suppression systems.

2+ years of experience with Change Management policies, procedures, and software.

2+ years of experience with Incident/Problem Management policies, procedures, and software.

2+ years of experience with Asset Management policies, procedures, and software.

2+ years of experience with networks such as LAN/WAN, MPLS, TCP/IP, and SNA.

2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office.

2+ years of experience with ITIL.

2+ years of experience with automated job schedulers.

2+ years of experience with hardware/software maintenance contracts.

Must be able to work onsite in Atlanta, GA.
