Peabody Engineering is committed to a healthy company culture, a great work environment, and a genuine concern for its employees.JOB TITLE: CAD DesignerPOSITION REPORTS TO: Vice President of OperationsPOSITION SUMMARYThe CAD Designer performs para-professional office and engineering tasks in support of various technical projects. Responsibilities may include drafting, project design, calculations, layout creation, quality control, and utilization of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools. Work assignments vary by experience level and may involve collaboration with engineering and project management staff.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Associate degree (minimum 60 semester units) in Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field preferred.A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in place of formal education.Three (3) years of para-professional experience in drafting, design, or engineering support.One (1) year of experience may be waived with an accredited associate's degree.Experience with SolidWorks CAD software required.Knowledge of:Engineering principles, terminology, and drafting practices.CAD systems and techniques.Technical report writing and data analysis.Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).Time management, file organization, and documentation standards. Skills and Abilities:Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Analyze data, make calculations, and solve design-related issues.Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Organize digital and physical files per company procedures.Operate CAD software (SolidWorks) and standard office applications.Use measurement tools (e.g., tape measure, calipers) with accuracy.Work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
