Job description

Labor & Employment Associate – Traditional Labor

Locations: Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time

A global law firm is seeking a 2nd–5th year associate to join its California Labor & Employment Practice with a focus on traditional labor law. The role involves advising clients on labor relations, union matters, collective bargaining, grievances, and proceedings before state agencies and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Some employment litigation experience is strongly preferred.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of traditional labor law experience

  • Experience with client counseling, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, union campaigns, and NLRB/state labor agency proceedings

  • Strong academic credentials

  • Active member of the California State Bar

Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on labor relations strategy and compliance

  • Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and handle related grievances and arbitrations

  • Participate in proceedings before the NLRB, state labor agencies, and courts

  • Train management and HR personnel on labor law compliance

  • Support multi-state or multinational clients with labor strategy and employee relations

Compensation & Benefits
  • $215,000–$365,000 per year, depending on experience and location
