Role Description This is a full-time, on-site RPG/Websphere Developer/Supervisor role based in Follansbee, WV. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining RPG applications on IBM i systems, as well as configuring and supporting Websphere environments to ensure stable and secure business operations. The RPG/Websphere Developer/Supervisor will oversee application performance, troubleshoot system and integration issues, and implement enhancements aligned with production and business needs. This position also includes supervising technical team members, coordinating workloads, mentoring staff, and collaborating with cross-functional departments such as production, operations, and IT to support process improvements and system reliability. The role requires clear documentation of technical solutions, adherence to company standards and security policies, and ongoing optimization of systems to meet evolving requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with RPG development on IBM i (AS/400), including maintenance, optimization, and integration of business applications.
  • Hands-on expertise with Websphere Application Server administration, configuration, deployment, and performance monitoring.
  • Background in supervising or leading technical teams, including task prioritization, mentoring, and performance guidance.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle, version control, and change management practices in an enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in database concepts and SQL, particularly in relation to IBM i systems and application performance tuning.
  • Ability to analyze business processes, gather requirements, and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
