Job description

  • Identifying, defining, and solving complex technical problems related to RF systems requirements, design, development, integration, testing and/or fielding which require a high level of ingenuity and innovativeness
  • Encouraging optimum design within project schedule and funding limitations
  • Interacting frequently as the organizational representative with the customer in the collection and translation of customer requirements to defined specifications
  • Making frequent contact with customers, team partners, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain/exchange information, providing technical direction, and assisting in the resolution of technical issues
  • Developing and delivering complex technical presentations related to RF systems to high- level program management and customers. May lead major program and/or design reviews and major proposal activities
  • Performing extensive research and complex analysis on a major project to enhance the technical and economic development of the product and/or service. Completed reports or studies may be deliverable engineering products to the customer. This includes providing theoretical expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Radio wave propagation
    • Digital signal processing
    • RF and/or digital hardware design and integration
    • Threat RF systems exploitation
    • Communications theory
    • Waveform development and modeling
    • Electronic Warfare systems
  • Providing functional and technical guidance to engineers. Typically provides leadership and technical direction for a project team
  • Actively seeking new business opportunities in related technical areas
  • Identifying new customers and/or developing additional tasking with existing customers
  • Additional responsibilities will vary based on specific areas of RF expertise to include some of the following tasks:
    • Threat systems analysis
    • Model development to match intelligence assessments, including waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking and signal processing
    • RF signals processing
    • RF algorithms / logic
    • Antenna analysis
    • Target tracking
  • Writing technical briefings, papers and reports to reflect intelligence analysis and assessments of foreign threat systems
  • System performance assessments of major subsystems including but not limited to phased array antennas, transmitters and receivers, RF signal processors and computer algorithms/logic

  • This job requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and ten or more years of work related experience
  • The primary or most necessary skills required for this job are analytical skills. Other important skills include communication, leadership and problem solving skills, and short-term and long-term planning skills
  • Proficiency in the one or more of the following toolsets:
    • Modeling Software: MATLAB, SimuLink, MathCAD
    • Radar Signal and Data Processing Toolsets
    • Experience with root cause analysis of RF systems and interoperability
  • Knowledge of sensor signal processing, signal detection, probability & statistics
  • Experience integrating sensor, shooter, and command and control systems
  • Knowledge of sensor array processing methods, antennas, and propagation

  • 10 or more years of work related experience
