AltaGas - Sr. Director, Enterprise Security & Emergency Response

We are is seeking an accomplished security and emergency management senior leader to lead our enterprise-wide security strategy and ICSguided emergency response programs. As the Sr. Director, Enterprise Security & Emergency Response, you will shape and execute a unified, riskbased framework that integrates corporate security, threat intelligence, insider-threat mitigation, and emergency preparedness across the enterprise, aligned with plans and requirements of the Utilities and Midstream businesses.

This role is central to advancing our zeroharm commitment, strengthening operational resilience, and ensuring AltaGas is prepared for an evolving threat landscape. You will collaborate closely with internal partners and external agencies to drive alignment, readiness, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do:

  • Direct the enterprise Emergency Management Program, ensuring ICScompliant plans, procedures, and training

  • Serve as principal advisor to Incident Commanders during enterprise-level emergencies, severe weather events, security incidents, and cyberphysical disruptions

  • Lead enterprise tabletop, functional, and fullscale exercises, as appropriate; lead After-Action Reviews (AARs) and Deficiency Improvement Updates (DIUs)

  • Oversee the reliability of 24/7 emergency notification systems

  • Represent AltaGas in regulatory proceedings, audits, and industry forums on safety and security matters

  • Build strong relationships with federal, state, provincial, and local agencies, including first responders

  • Lead or oversee all internal investigations related to security breaches, fraud, theft, workplace violence, substance abuse policy violations, and insider threat concerns

  • Coordinate with HR, Legal, Digital and external law enforcement/investigative agencies as required while preserving evidence and confidentiality

  • Establish and lead a comprehensive threat intelligence program monitoring global, national, and local developments

  • Produce threat assessments for facilities, field operations, executive travel, public events, and emerging risks

  • Build and mature an enterprise insider threat program for employees, contractors, and vendors with access to critical infrastructure or sensitive information

  • Lead insider threat case management and ensure protection of proprietary information

  • Build and lead a highperforming team, fostering a culture of collaboration, sustainability, and continuous improvement

  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities emphasizing handson experience

  • Ensure teams prioritize work aligned with strategic objectives and risk mitigation

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience working in a corporate or similar environment, preferably within the energy sector

  • Strong knowledge and experience working in a regulated environment in the midstream gas and utility industries

  • Deep technical and regulatory expertise in ICS emergency management frameworks

  • Demonstrated experience designing and leading threat intelligence and insider threat programs in a regulated environment

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Security Management, Emergency Management, Intelligence Studies, or closely related field required. Master's degree preferred
