Job description

Wholesale Merchandiser

Pendleton has been woven in the West since 1863. Built on a legacy of craft, quality, and authenticity, our products are known for their timeless design and enduring stories. The Wholesale Merchandiser is responsible for developing an aligned seasonal global line architecture that drives profitable growth across wholesale channels. This role translates consumer, customer, marketplace, product, and competitor insights into strategic line plans, channel assortments, and distribution strategies while partnering closely with Product Management, Planning, and Wholesale partners to deliver a cohesive global product vision.

What You'll Do

Seasonal Line Architecture & Product Strategy

  • Develop an aligned seasonal global line architecture, in collaboration with Product Management, Planning and our Wholesale partners.
  • Apply knowledge of consumers and customers, marketplace, product, and competitor insights to provide long term vision and framework to seasonal line plans.
  • Communicate needs with product management.
  • Assist in authoring the seasonal brand roadmap with global product and marketing teams.
  • Contribute to the strategy that drives profitable growth and revenue across wholesale channels.

Wholesale Assortment & Channel Strategy

  • Curate product assortments for wholesale channels to drive full-price sales.
  • Drive segmentation and distribution plans.
  • Curate channel assortments through segmentation to create distinct differentiation across channels and partners.
  • Rank styles seasonally based on historical and current product performance to identify redundancies and opportunities in the product assortment.

Franchise & Product Lifecycle Management

  • Own strategic franchise management plans and product lifecycles of said plans.
  • Drive specific KPI's to achieve targets, including CC count & productivity and global adoption %.

Market & Consumer Insights

  • Gather market research and marketplace intel to inform channel-wide and company-wide strategic product priorities.
  • Apply knowledge of consumers and customers, marketplace, product, and competitor insights to provide long term vision and framework to seasonal line plans.

Cross-Functional & Wholesale Partnership

  • Be a key partner to our Wholesale team and will be customer account facing.
  • Contribute to a work environment that supports teamwork, inclusion, and respect.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in apparel or home with business-driving functions including product management or merchandising.
  • Strong understanding the marketplace, including understanding nuance across diverse channels of distribution.
  • Working knowledge with at least two channels from Department Stores, Outdoor Specialty, Sporting Goods, Home, and/or Western Farm and Ranch channels.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written, strong cross functional collaboration skills required.
  • Strong presentation skills, proven ability to influence.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and an ability to manage multiple timelines and deadlines.
  • Proactive approach to identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best solutions with a value driven commitment to do what is right.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage a critical path schedule and balance multiple seasonal deadlines under pressure.
  • Growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new tools and problem-solving.
  • Ability to travel, domestically and international, up to 50% of the month, in busy seasons, working with Wholesale Accounts and Sales to drive revenue and gather data to inform line plans.
