Position Summary

The Merchandising Manager is the regional product expert and commercial owner of the assortment, responsible for translating the Global Product Strategy into successful execution across Latin America.

This role drives assortment planning, collection launches, commercial performance and product lifecycle management, ensuring the right product is available in the right stores, at the right time. Acting as the key connection between Global Merchandising and the regional business, the Merchandising Manager combines analytical insights with market knowledge to maximize sales performance while preserving brand equity and delivering an exceptional client experience.

Working cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Retail, Client & Visual Merchandising (CVM), Marketing, Finance and Global Merchandising teams, the role identifies commercial opportunities, influences business decisions and develops action plans that accelerate growth across the region.

The ideal candidate is a commercially minded merchant who combines analytical rigor with strong business intuition. They are passionate about product, understand the luxury client, and thrive in a collaborative environment. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Assortment Management (30%)

  • Define and manage store assortments by market, channel and store typology to maximize productivity while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Lead assortment reviews and recommendations for existing stores, renovations, relocations and new openings.
  • Drive collection launch readiness, defining product priorities, hero SKUs and regional product focus.
  • Manage product lifecycle, identifying opportunities for launch acceleration, replenishment, transfers and end-of-life strategies.
  • Organize regional product reviews and collect market feedback to influence future collection development and product strategies.
  • Support product selections for client events, animations, caravans and regional activations across all categories.

2. Commercial Performance & Business Insights (30%)

  • Monitor sales performance, sell-through, productivity and category trends across markets and collections.
  • Develop commercial dashboards and performance reviews to support strategic business decisions.
  • Identify risks and growth opportunities, recommending action plans to improve commercial performance.
  • Establish and monitor commercial targets for collections, categories and key launches.
  • Consolidate retail feedback, customer insights and competitive intelligence to identify product opportunities and market trends.
  • Partner with regional and Global stakeholders to ensure continuous optimization of the product assortment.

3. Commercial Execution & Cross-functional Leadership (30%)

  • Lead the merchandising execution of all product launches across Latin America, ensuring flawless implementation across retail channels.
  • Define assortment visibility, product priorities and category focus for launches, permanent collections and key commercial moments.
  • Partner closely with Client & Visual Merchandising (CVM) to align product priorities with storytelling, product presentation and the overall client experience.
  • Collaborate with Retail Performance to define and monitor monthly commercial targets by category and identify opportunities to accelerate business.
  • Partner with Inventory Planning to secure healthy stock levels, product availability and successful execution throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead merchandising governance through regular business reviews, assortment reviews, launch planning sessions and cross-functional meetings.
  • Influence key stakeholders through data-driven recommendations that balance commercial priorities, operational constraints and brand strategy.
  • Foster strong collaboration across regional, market and global teams, promoting an agile, solution-oriented and performance-driven way of working.

4. Staff Management (10%)

  • Help to set clear priorities, championing a culture of executional excellence and ensuring high standards of accuracy 
  • Provide coaching & feedback, support team members' ongoing professional growth and complete formal performance evaluations in alignment with company guidelines
  • Ensure team adoption of new systems, tools, and processes, and support training & development opportunities.
  • Support the Director in executing departmental initiatives and cross-functional projects
  • Back-up team members during holidays

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related fied.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in Merchandising, Buying, Retail Merchandising or Commercial Planning, preferably within luxury retail, jewelry, watches, fashion or premium consumer goods.
  • Strong commercial acumen with deep understanding of assortment planning, product lifecycle management and retail performance.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to transform data into actionable business recommendations.
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, with experience communicating to senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix organization.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly collaborative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Agile mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business priorities.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive and solution-driven.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with BI reporting tools is an asset.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
