Program Manager – Medical Device

Location: Chicago, IL – Ravenswood/Montrose area
Pay: Up to $70/hr
Potential Direct Hire: Yes — target $120K–$140K+, depending on background

Position Overview
A leading medical device manufacturer specializing in drug delivery devices is seeking a Program Manager to lead and coordinate product development programs from initial quotation through design freeze and process validation. This role will serve as a key customer interface while leading cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet quality, cost, timing, and risk objectives.
Medical device experience is a MUST.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage internal and external customers as the primary program contact.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams throughout medical device development.
  • Develop and manage program plans, budgets, timelines, and expenses.
  • Identify program risks and drive action plans to keep projects on track.
  • Manage multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Present program status and updates during governance meetings.
  • Coordinate with Finance to track program costs and budgets.
  • Participate in technical decisions and supplier selection.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
Must Have
  • Medical device industry experience — REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of Program Management experience.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong customer-facing experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Highly Preferred
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing, injection molding, and automation.
  • Medical device or combination product development experience.
  • Familiarity with FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and ISO 62366.
  • Experience managing programs across multiple sites.
