Job description

Policy Management Consultant

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid โ€“ Downtown office)

Duration: 12-Month Contract


About the Opportunity

Swoon is partnering with a leading financial institution to hire a Policy Management Consultant supporting a high-profile Capital Markets risk remediation initiative. This role will play a critical part in developing and maintaining a global policy management framework, ensuring governance standards, regulatory requirements, and documentation practices are consistently applied across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with subject matter experts and business stakeholders to review, edit, and enhance policies, procedures, and governance documentation
  • Ensure documentation aligns with regulatory expectations, internal standards, and policy management requirements
  • Evaluate existing policies and procedures, identifying opportunities for consolidation, retirement, or enhancement
  • Manage document lifecycle activities including version control, approvals, and repository maintenance
  • Coordinate policy reviews, updates, and governance deliverables across multiple stakeholders
  • Support the ongoing evolution of the policy management framework as the organization transitions from remediation activities into business-as-usual operations
  • Identify opportunities to improve governance processes, documentation quality, and operational efficiency
  • Track deliverables, maintain reporting, and provide administrative support to the broader policy management function

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in policy management, governance, risk, compliance, project management, or change management
  • Banking or financial services industry experience
  • Strong policy writing, editing, and documentation management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proven stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration experience
