Job Description:
Police Officer temporary employees must be POST-Certified Police Officers actively commissioned in the state of Louisiana by their respective parish Sheriff's Office.
Job Duties
40% - Works Police security details under the direction of the LSU Police Department. May work assignments involving large crowds and special event control operations under the direction of the LSU Police Department.
20% - Provides foot and mobile security patrol, protects lives and property with primary emphasis on enforcement of laws. Provides emergency medical services and renders assistance as needed. Directs traffic as needed.
20% - May serve on hazardous materials and crisis intervention response teams. May work assignments involving fire safety, environmental safety, building security, and selective enforcement programs. May work emergency response assignments as related to hurricanes, floods, bomb threats, and/or any other catastrophic situation as required.
20% - Maintains communication with authorized law enforcement and emergency personnel. Prepares and submits required Police case/incident/traffic reports and law enforcement-related documents.
Special or Physical Requirements
Transient employees must be POST-Certified Police Officers actively commissioned in the state of Louisiana. Please upload a copy of your Commissions Card to the application.
Must possess a valid minimum Class E driver's license.
