Job description

SMX is seeking an experienced Logistics Analytics and Visualization Specialist to support the development and maintenance of the Logistics Common Operating Picture (LCOP). This position is responsible for collecting, reviewing, and analyzing logistics data to provide accurate visibility of inventory, equipment location, production schedules, shipping dates, and delivery status. The analyst will track equipment from the manufacturer through shipment and final delivery to the end user. This role will use available data and reporting from manufacturers, transportation providers, warehouses, program teams, and receiving organizations to keep logistics information current and identify issues that could affect delivery timelines.

This position requires a DoW secret security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoW contracts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct financial oversight and execution of contracting functions for all project requirements.

  • Reports status, develops program/project-related documentation, implements lessons learned, and updates and maintains production and quality metrics for assigned programs and projects.

  • Supports operational planning, execution, and evaluation of a multi-faceted program that requires collaboration with customers.

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the government’s program managers.

  • Manages daily communication, deliverable tracking, and financial reporting status with multiple subcontractors for assigned projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update the Logistics Common Operating Picture.

  • Track equipment from manufacturer production through final delivery to the end user.

  • Monitor inventory levels, equipment locations, production dates, shipping dates, and delivery schedules.

  • Review manufacturer rollout and production schedules and identify potential impacts to delivery timelines.

  • Track planned and actual shipment dates, in-transit status, warehouse locations, and final receipt.

  • Collect and validate logistics data from multiple sources.

  • Identify data gaps, discrepancies, delays, and other issues that may affect equipment delivery.

  • Develop and maintain trackers, reports, dashboards, and other logistics products for leadership and program teams.

  • Analyze planned versus actual production, shipment, and delivery performance.

  • Provide status updates, trends, risks, and projected delivery dates.

  • Review available information from manufacturers, transportation teams, warehouses, and end users to identify data or shipment issues.

  • Support logistics meetings, program reviews, and leadership briefings.

  • Assist with developing logistics metrics and performance measures

  • Ensure logistics information is accurate, current, and consistent across reporting tools.

Required Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of logistics or supply chain experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting the U.S. Army, with experience working at the strategic level.

  • Experience with Army logistics, sustainment, equipping, materiel management, or similar strategic-level operations.

  • Experience analyzing inventory, equipment locations, production schedules, shipping dates, and delivery status.

  • Experience tracking equipment or materiel from manufacturer production through delivery to the end user.

  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for creating senior level briefing decks.

  • Ability to analyze large data sets, identify trends, discrepancies, delays, and potential risks.

  • Strong written and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and coordinate across multiple organizations and stakeholders.

Desired Skills/Experience
  • Experience developing or maintaining a Logistics Common Operating Picture (LCOP) or similar logistics visibility tool.

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization platforms.

  • Experience developing dashboards, performance metrics, and logistics reporting tools.

  • Experience with Army logistics systems, enterprise resource planning systems, or supply chain management systems (DIOGENES, etc.).

  • Experience supporting Foreign Military Sales, Security Cooperation, or international logistics programs.

  • Experience working with manufacturers, vendors, transportation providers, warehouses, and receiving organizations.

  • Experience with strategic-level logistics planning and decision support.

  • Familiarity with equipment production schedules, manufacturer rollout plans, transportation timelines, and delivery forecasting.

  • Experience briefing senior military or civilian leadership.

  • Knowledge of DoD supply chain, transportation, inventory management, and materiel accountability processes.

The proposed salary for this position is:

$118,000—$142,000 USD
