About the Business
LexisNexis Risk Solutions is the essential partner in the assessment of risk. Within our Insurance organization, we provide customers with solutions and decision tools that combine public and industry specific content with advanced technology and analytics to assist them in evaluating and predicting risk and enhancing operational efficiency. About the Role
The Director, Product & Data Governance is responsible for establishing, scaling, and operating governance as a core platform capability for the Insurance Platform. This role ensures that product, data, and API decisions are made consistently, transparently, and at the right level-enabling rapid platform adoption while protecting shared assets and meeting regulatory, privacy, and quality standards.
This leader operates at the intersection of Product Management, Platform Engineering, Data, Security, Legal, and Compliance, balancing speed and innovation with clarity, accountability, and long-term scalability.
What Success Looks Like
  • Governance is viewed as an IHC capability and a competitive advantage-speeding delivery, not slowing it.
  • Products onboard to the Insurance Platform quickly, establishing key metrics to track progress.
  • Platform data and APIs remain consistent, reliable, and trusted as adoption scales.
  • Decision-making is clear, straight-forward, transparent and accountable across the platform.

This role will be hybrid in Alpharetta, GA (3x per week)
Responsibilities
Platform Product & Data Governance
  • Own the governance framework for the Insurance Platform, spanning product onboarding, data usage, API standards, and shared platform assets (e.g., Common Data Structure, API contracts).
  • Establish and maintain clear decision rights and guardrails for teams onboarding to the platform, reducing ambiguity and rework while accelerating delivery.
  • Govern platform-wide consistency across data definitions, schema evolution, versioning, backward compatibility, and deprecation policies.
  • Ensure governance enables parallel onboarding of products without fragmentation across delivery channels.

Operating Model & Forums
  • Design and run the platform governance operating model, including intake processes, review forums, escalation paths, and exception management.
  • Stand up and lead the appropriate governance forums (cadence, scope, and participants) to ensure fast, high-quality decisions.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for governance outcomes across the Insurance Platform.

Product Onboarding & Lifecycle
  • Partner with Platform Product Management to ensure all core and strategic products onboard to the Insurance Platform in alignment with governance standards.
  • Provide governance oversight across the product lifecycle-from concept and onboarding through change management and retirement.
  • Ensure customer-facing behaviors and artifacts (e.g., OpenAPI specs, JSON documentation, platform standards) are consistent and reliable.

Data, Risk & Compliance Alignment
  • Ensure product- and platform-level governance aligns with regulatory, privacy, security, and data quality requirements while enabling speed to value and innovation.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Privacy, Information Security, and Compliance teams to embed controls and risk management into standard ways of working.
  • Proactively identify governance risks and drive mitigation strategies before they impact our markets.

Enablement & Adoption
  • Position governance as capability and an enabler-driving adoption through clarity, shared standards, and education.
  • Lead development content providing guidance, playbooks, and training to help teams understand how to make consistent platform and data decisions.
  • Measure governance effectiveness using outcomes such as improved TATs, faster onboarding, cross-product consistency, and reduced regulatory exposure.

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead, coach and mentor a talented governance team that is highly influential, scaling capabilities and working within our Data Governance Product team.
  • Act as a trusted partner to senior product, technology, and business leaders.
  • Influence without authority-driving alignment across distributed teams with competing priorities.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, data governance, platform governance, or large-scale technology platforms.
  • Prior experience operating in platform-based or API-driven environments, preferably in regulated industries (insurance, financial services, healthcare).
  • Deep understanding of product onboarding, data models, API standards, and platform operating models.
  • Proven ability to design and run governance that scales with growth and modernization.
  • Experience applying AI, automation, or advanced analytics to improve governance processes, strengthen decision-making, and accelerate platform adoption.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate clearly with senior leadership and cross-functional partners. Proven ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Education to Qualify: Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical subject (Computer Science or Engineering discipline) is preferred, but not essential. MBA or management degree strongly desirable.
