Description
DRMP is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Lighting Engineer, PE to join our growing Transportation team in Orlando. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex transportation challenges and delivering innovative, safe, and energy-efficient lighting solutions for roadway and infrastructure projects.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  • Lead the design and analysis of roadway and transportation lighting systems.
  • Develop construction plans, specifications, engineer's estimates, technical reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Perform lighting calculations, voltage drop analyses, and lighting justification reports.
  • Design lighting systems for roadways, interchanges, bridges, site areas, and other transportation infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with clients, utility companies, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable FDOT standards, NEC, NESC, and other applicable codes and design criteria.
  • Evaluate and recommend innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient lighting solutions.
  • Support project managers with technical leadership, quality control, and project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and developing engineers.
  • Participate in client coordination and contribute to the continued growth of DRMP's transportation lighting practice.

What you'll need
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 8+ years of transportation, roadway, infrastructure, or lighting engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of lighting design principles and applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience
  • FDOT roadway lighting experience.
  • Experience with Florida Expressway Authority projects or other transportation agency clients.
  • Roadway, interchange, bridge, site, or aesthetic lighting design.
  • Lighting justification reports and voltage drop calculations.
  • Utility coordination and permitting.
  • Lighting plan development and construction documentation.
  • Experience with AGi32, ETAP, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar engineering software.
