Reporting directly to the Director, Growth. The Business Development Manager focuses on growing the business in new and existing markets through relationship generation and upfront services for owners, brokers, and investors. The Business Development Manager is responsible for coordinating operations to ensure a healthy pipeline that does not put undue pressure on the property management team. Constant communication and planning between sales and planning fall to the Business Development Manager to ensure we are growing in an effective and stable manner. The Business Development Manager may also be responsible for developing new operations to ensure our processes can scale as the company grows.

  • Prospect into Atlas's target markets and build working lists of owners, investors, and referral sources.
  • Represent Atlas at industry events and turn new connections into pipeline
  • Build a referral network of brokers, lenders, CPAs, and 1031 intermediaries.
  • Deliver a high-touch prospect experience: fast responses, prepared conversations, follow-through on every commitment.
  • Build proformas and pull rent comps that show prospective owners what their property can actually do.
  • Assemble proposals, management agreements, and presentation materials for client meetings.
  • Keep the CRM clean and current — every lead, stage, next step, and source accurate daily.
  • Report weekly on pipeline KPIs
  • Partner with growth and marketing on campaigns and events that keep new opportunities flowing in.
  • Manage assigned existing relationships: regular check-ins, expansion opportunities, and early warning on at-risk accounts.

Requirements:
  • Desire to work hard to build a book of business that generates return business and referrals
  • Ability to generate business opportunities through networking and strategic planning
  • Ability to see opportunities to add value to clients and referral partners
  • Ability to travel to new markets to follow new business opportunities
  • Knowledge and experience in single-family and multi-family deal underwriting
  • Basic Knowledge of MFH Financing and Valuations
  • Ability to create budgets for MF deals and new developments as they are being underwritten to assist business partners in the acquisition of new deals
  • Ability to create and manage a stabilization plan for new developments and value-add MF deals
  • High knowledge of value-add construction and opportunity in specific submarkets
  • Full comprehension of the Atlas Real Estate Property Management Agreement (PMA), including the ability to educate new owners on each aspect of the agreement
  • Ability to create business plan and action plan for MFH properties
  • High-level knowledge of Excel and proforma modeling
  • Experience with the land planning process and submarket due diligence
  • Ability to complete market surveys
