POSITION TITLE: Learning Systems Specialist, Education


STATUS: Full time / Exempt


LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid: 2 days/week on-site, 3 days/week remote)

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a learning systems specialist to join our Education team. The ideal candidate will bring value to the team by being responsible for the daily operations of NCSBNโ€™s learning management system (LMS) that powers digital and virtual learning experiences for nursing regulators.


Reporting to the Manager, Learning Delivery, the Learning Systems Specialist will ensure that e-learning content is accurately configured, tracked, and continuously improved through data analysis and learner feedback. They will also ensure that the LMS functions smoothly and provide a seamless user experience from course access to completion. The Learning Systems Specialist will join the team at an exciting time, playing an important role in implementing and shaping a new LMS that will roll out to learners later this year.


This role is an exciting opportunity for an individual with LMS configuration and support experience who is looking to join an organization committed to advancing nursing regulation and policy worldwide!


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates the configuration, publishing, and maintenance of digital courses and virtual workshop resources in the LMS. Supports enrollment setup, user role permissions, and course settings to ensure accurate and efficient content delivery. Conducts quality assurance (QA) checks and maintains documentation such as standard operating procedures and technical checklists to support ongoing system consistency.
  • Assists in the design of surveys. Administers and analyzes surveys to gather feedback on learner experience, content effectiveness, and platform usability. Develops data reports on course participation, learner progress, and assessment outcomes. Identifies trends and shares insights to inform improvements to course design, development, and delivery.
  • Monitors LMS performance, proactively identifies issues, and stays current on system updates and emerging features. Communicates relevant platform updates to internal stakeholders and recommends enhancements to improve learning experiences and technical performance.
  • Provides timely, effective technical support to learners and internal stakeholders for LMS-related issues. Collaborates with instructional designers and developers to test and resolve sharable content object reference model (SCORM)/ Experience API (xAPI) content issues and platform compatibility concerns. Supports Tier 2 troubleshooting and logs issues to inform future improvements.
  • Supports efforts to streamline LMS workflows and improve team efficiency. Participates in cross-functional collaboration to align system functionality with evolving course delivery strategies and organizational goals.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in configuring a learning management system or similar digital learning platform.
  • Familiarity with eLearning best practices and educational program implementation.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms (e.g., Docebo, Moodle, Canvas, Absorb, Cornerstone).
  • Familiarity with course authoring tools and digital content standards.
  • Ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and responsive to learner and team needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of reporting and analytics for eLearning activities.
  • Skilled in conducting quality assurance testing and troubleshooting LMS issues.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The anticipated starting salary for this position is $56,000 - $63,000 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent on a candidateโ€™s relevant experience, skills, training, certifications/licenses, qualifications and geographical location.
