Spectrum Health Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join us as Senior Manager, Learning & Development (L&D), leading and advancing organizational learning to support high-quality, safe, and client-centred home and community care services. 

This leadership role is responsible for setting the learning strategy, supporting regulatory readiness, and building the capabilities of a diverse workforce that includes Personal Support Workers (PSWs), nurses, allied health professionals, supervisors, and corporate teams.

The Senior Manager, L&D will lead a multidisciplinary team of learning professionals and work closely with partners across Clinical Practice, Quality, Operations, and Human Resources to ensure learning initiatives are aligned with organizational priorities, workforce realities, and best practices in adult education and healthcare delivery.

Job Description
  • Lead the organization’s Learning & Development strategy to strengthen workforce capability, compliance, and quality of care
  • Partner with executive leaders, Clinical Practice, HR, and Operations to identify learning needs and align training with organizational priorities
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary L&D team, ensuring high‑quality learning design and consistent delivery across service lines
  • Oversee the design, governance, and evaluation of learning programs aligned with regulatory, accreditation, and clinical best practices
  • Ensure mandatory training compliance and audit readiness through effective LMS administration and reporting
  • Manage the L&D budget, learning technologies, and external vendors
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement through modern learning approaches, data, and emerging best practices
Qualifications
  • B.Sc in Nursing, Masters Degree preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, including leadership of instructional design and facilitation teams
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, adult learning principles, and blended learning strategies
  • Hands‑on experience administering and governing Learning Management Systems (LMS), including compliance tracking and reporting
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people‑management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts for diverse learner groups
  • Experience in home care, community health, long‑term care, or clinical education
  • Deep understanding of the clinical, operational, and regulatory realities of healthcare environments
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and digital learning technologies
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using learning data to inform decisions and improvements
  • Annual Salary is $110,000 - $125,000. Compensation is based on experience and education.
