Position: RF Test Systems Architect / Lab Manager
Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Salary: $120K - $150K (DOE)
About the Opportunity
Join an innovative semiconductor organization as a key technical leader responsible for RF test infrastructure, automated test development, and laboratory operations. This role will support the development, validation, and production readiness of advanced RF technologies while helping build scalable test capabilities for future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategy for RF test and characterization capabilities.
- Design and implement automated RF test platforms and methodologies.
- Define instrumentation requirements and test system architectures.
- Lead integration of hardware, software, and data acquisition systems.
- Develop automated test solutions using tools such as Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or C#.
- Manage daily laboratory operations, equipment utilization, and maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Oversee calibration schedules and vendor service activities.
- Manage laboratory inventory, equipment procurement, and asset tracking.
- Lead and mentor laboratory technicians and support personnel.
- Drive improvements in automation, throughput, accuracy, and data quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in RF test engineering, RF systems, semiconductor characterization, or similar environments.
- Extensive experience with RF instrumentation and automated test systems.
- Strong understanding of high-power RF testing and measurement techniques.
- Experience with test automation software and data analytics.
- Previous laboratory management or technical leadership experience.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GaN, GaAs, or other advanced semiconductor technologies.
- Reliability testing and qualification experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or comparable quality systems.
- Experience supporting manufacturing test development and production transfer activities.
- Background working in startup or high-growth technology environments.
