  • We have an opening for a full time CHEMICAL PROCESSING CENTER TECHNICIAN position.
  • Location: Pfizer - 558 Eastern Point Road, Groton, CT 06340 Note: online applications accepted only.

Job Summary
Summary: Delivers exceptional lab services at client locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs all CPC functions such as storing, dispensing via TrackIt2/Harper software, wasting and managing the inventory of PGRD's Commercial Chemicals.
  • Takes initiative in rendering services or responding to needs.
  • Assembles transfer bottles daily.
  • Checks & fills pans daily.
  • Checks printer ink levels at all printers weekly; restocks as needed.
  • Checks reagents and cups in all locations weekly; checks machines in 3616 daily, restocks as needed.
  • Tracks levels of remaining reagents/cups and reorders items as needed.
  • Checks volumes and fills chamber carboys 3x per week.
  • Creates lab coat name tags and distributes to scientists as requested.
  • Distributes developer chemicals to dark rooms as they arrive so that there is sufficient stock. Informs LabOps when additional boxes need to be ordered.
  • Distributes distilled water for incubators daily.
  • Distributes FBS from central stock to appropriate locations 3x per week; monitors central stock and tracks usage to inform when the reordering process needs to occur.
  • Monitors prepared buffer levels in specific lab locations; prepares and distributes more as needed by following SOP and parameters conveyed during training.
  • Performs distiller maintenance by descaling the unit at the beginning of each month and does a full shutdown & cleaning the second half of the month.
  • Picks up surplus lab supplies from drop off locations daily; reconciles and updates inventory weekly.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Previous lab operations experience greatly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
