Job Title: Inventory Clerk III – Inventory Control & Repair Material Management
Job Description

This role is responsible for managing inventory control and repair materials, executing ERP transactions, and coordinating cross-functionally to support Global Service & Repair operations in an FDA-regulated medical device environment. The Inventory Clerk III works with advanced SAP functionality, maintains high levels of inventory accuracy, and independently manages complex workflows to ensure timely and compliant repair activities.

Responsibilities

  • Receive returned products into the ERP system and determine appropriate disposition and handling in accordance with procedures.
  • Follow up with Product Surveillance on required actions related to returned products and complaints.
  • Maintain high inventory accuracy by following manufacturing and material movement best practices.
  • Prepare, issue, and kit materials in alignment with Repair Work Order Pick Lists, work instructions, and production schedules.
  • Ensure continuous workflow through the repair area and support adherence to established repair timelines.
  • Assign material retrieval and return instructions and support preparation of Purchase Orders as needed.
  • Generate product packaging and component labels in accordance with router and Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements.
  • Perform physical inventories and cycle counts to ensure ERP inventory data remains accurate and up to date.
  • Verify that issued materials match the requirements of the applicable Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Ensure all work order documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and comply with area clearance and housekeeping procedures.
  • Log received materials and related information into the complaints database accurately and promptly.
  • Prepare written repair quotes and obtain customer approvals before proceeding with repair activities.
  • Monitor vendor repairs, evaluations, and quotes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Liaise with internal departments including Product Surveillance, Quality, Finance, and Logistics to resolve issues and support smooth operations.
  • Support Global Service & Repair projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Support internal and external audits, nonconformance reports (NCRs), and related quality activities.
  • Follow all bloodborne pathogen and related safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Handle document control tasks related to inventory, shipping, receiving, and repair documentation.
  • Print and apply labels accurately for inventory, shipping, and repair materials.
  • Participate in shipping and receiving activities as needed to support overall inventory and warehouse operations.
Essential Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, with the high school name listed on the resume.
  • At least 2 years of experience in inventory control, inventory management, warehouse, or related operations.
  • Advanced SAP knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly for inventory and repair transactions.
  • Experience with document control, inventory control, filing, cycle counts, and inventory management processes.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving activities, including receiving inventory and verifying documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of FDA and ISO regulations applicable to medical device or regulated environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable product lines and Global Service & Repair customer fulfillment processes, or ability to learn quickly.
  • Expertise in SAP, Quest, and Salesforce event management processes, or strong aptitude to master these systems.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills for managing inventory data and resolving discrepancies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to clearly document data, follow detailed work instructions, and comply with procedural requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and matrix teams and build strong internal and external relationships.

Work Environment

This position operates within a Global Service & Repair environment that supports FDA-regulated medical devices, combining office-based systems work with hands-on inventory and material handling. You work primarily with ERP systems such as SAP, as well as tools like Quest and Salesforce for event management, alongside Microsoft Office for documentation and communication. Daily activities involve working with inventory storage areas, repair workstations, and shipping and receiving zones, including printing labels, managing physical materials, and maintaining organized work areas. After an initial training period, you work largely independently while still being part of a close-knit team of approximately 7–8 individuals who collaborate closely and support one another. Typical shifts run from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional Saturday overtime that is not typically mandatory. The environment is fast-paced yet structured, with a strong emphasis on safety, adherence to bloodborne pathogen procedures, and compliance with FDA and ISO requirements.
