Job description

Breeze is hiring- join us!

Breeze is building the next generation of tools that keep our airline running. We're looking for a UI/UX Designer to lead the design of all internal applications for our Operations Control Center (OCC). At the center of that work is our new Operations Control Tool used by the OCC to smoothly operate the network and recover from disruption. From there you'll design for the full operation: dispatchers, crew services, and duty managers who keep every flight moving. This is mission-critical, software used to coordinate flights, crews, aircraft, and stations. The quality of their decisions depends on the clarity of what you design. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with a dedicated product team to take this product from idea to launch and continuously improve it to meet the needs of our operation.

Here's what you'll do
  • Design for operational users, translating high-stakes, real-time decisions into interfaces that stay calm and legible under pressure
  • Partner with other UI/UX Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to guide our user experience
  • Shape how AI assists operators, designing human-in-the-loop "propose & apply" patterns with the transparency, guardrails, and audit trails operators need to trust an AI recommendation
  • Translate ideas into user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and final designs
  • Maintain understanding of different devices, their operating systems, and interfaces
  • Build and maintain operational components in our Moxy Design System across Figma & Storybook, extending the system for data-dense ops patterns
  • Incorporate UI/UX best practices and adapt designs for responsive formats
  • Conduct user research with frontline operators: interviews, usability tests, and observation on the ops floor in the OCC
  • Keep abreast of new developments/technology that could be utilized by the organization to retain its competitive advantage
  • Consider brand and design system integrity throughout the development process
  • Perform image optimization for production-ready assets
  • Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity and Excellence
Here's what you'll need to be successfulMinimum Qualifications
  • 4-year degree in UI/UX, graphic, or multimedia design or a combination of education and relevant work experience
  • 3-5 years of UI/UX design experience, including work on complex, data-dense, or workflow-heavy software
  • Strong portfolio of past work
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and collaborate with other designers, product managers, and developers to ensure delivery of the best possible experience
  • Comfort designing for real-time systems and for multiple distinct user roles working from the same underlying data
  • Ability to design UI flows and layouts according to the needs of all stakeholders
  • Proficient with Figma and Storybook, or similar tools
  • High-performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Self-starter, must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success
  • Complete projects on time with minimal supervision, ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aviation or airline operations domain knowledge - OCC, dispatch, crew, stations, or maintenance.
  • Passion for travel
Skills/Talents
  • Exemplifies Breeze's safety culture, values, and mission
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to synthesize a complex operational domain into simple, usable tools
  • Ability to work with individuals and teams at all levels in the organization
Perks of the Job
  • Health, Vision and Dental
  • Health Savings Account with Breeze Employee Match
  • 401K with Breeze Employee Match
  • PTO
  • Travel on Breeze and other Airlines too!
