The manager partners closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Safety, and Automation to scale operations and meet customer demand.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
  • Hire, lead, and develop industrial engineers and CI specialists (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, etc..)
  • Set clear goals, coach performance, and build a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Manage engineering project portfolios, timelines, and resource allocation.

Production System & Process Improvement
  • Analyze and optimize production lines using value stream mapping, takt time, line balancing, and bottleneck analysis.
  • Establish and maintain standard work, work instructions, and labor standards (MTM/MOST/time studies).
  • Lead Lean initiatives (5S, visual management, Kanban, TPM) and Six Sigma projects to reduce defects and waste.

Data & Performance Management
  • Build and track KPIs: OEE, first-pass yield, scrap/rework, cycle time, on-time delivery, and labor productivity.
  • Develop dashboards and reports; use statistical tools for root cause analysis and trend insights.
  • Partner with Finance on cost/benefit analyses and ROI for capital and CI projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with Maintenance/TPM to improve equipment reliability and preventive maintenance plans.
  • Partner with Quality on process capability (CPK), control plans, PFMEA, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain for materials flow, supermarket sizing, and warehouse-to-line replenishment.
  • Support EHS on ergonomics and risk reduction; integrate safety into all engineering changes.

Layout, Equipment & Technology
  • Lead plant/line layout design (AutoCAD or similar) for new cells, expansions, and relocations.
  • Evaluate and implement tooling, fixtures, conveyors, robotics, vision systems, and automation to improve throughput and safety.
  • Support MES/LMS integration; ensure accurate data capture for cycle times and work content.

  • Manage engineering changes with minimal disruption to production and inventory.

Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure processes align with ISO 9001 and internal policies.
  • Maintain documentation: SOPs, standard work, layout drawings, process maps, and training materials.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field (Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering).
  • 5+ years of manufacturing/industrial engineering experience, including shop-floor projects.
  • 2+ years leading engineers or cross-functional project teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, time studies, and line balancing.
  • Proficiency with data analysis (Excel/BI), CAD for layout (AutoCAD or similar), and basic statistics.
  • Strong communication skills; able to influence at all levels from operators to executive leadership.

Key Competencies
  • Data-driven problem solving and statistical thinking.
  • Change leadership and project management (scope, schedule, cost).
  • Coaching, training, and standard work discipline.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Safety and ergonomics mindset.
