Job description

Firehouse Subs on 28th Street is hiring a Shift Lead / Manager in Training. We are looking for a responsible, reliable person who can help run strong shifts, keep the team moving, and grow into more leadership responsibility.
This is not just a title. We need someone who shows up, moves fast, treats guests well, holds standards, and can learn to lead people the right way.
What you will do:
- Help lead day-to-day restaurant shifts
- Coach crew members and keep the team on task
- Deliver fast, friendly guest service
- Work the line, register, prep, cleaning, stocking, and opening/closing tasks as needed
- Help maintain food safety, cleanliness, and speed standards
- Communicate clearly with the manager and team
- Set the example: attendance, attitude, urgency, and accountability
What we are looking for:
- Open availability preferred; day shift availability required
- Some nights/weekends may be required
- Restaurant, food service, retail, or customer-service experience
- Prior shift lead, keyholder, trainer, supervisor, or management experience preferred
- Reliable transportation to 5557 28th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512
- Strong work ethic and good communication
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant
- ServSafe is a plus; willingness to get certified is required if promoted
- College degree is not required. We care more about performance, reliability, and leadership.
Pay and growth:
- Starting pay: $16-$19/hr depending on experience and availability
